I do not pretend to be an English major. In fact, I would not even consider myself to be an English minor. There are plenty of people out there that might find themselves in the same shoes as me, so I have found an extension to help us all out – the Oak Vocabulary Firefox extension.
Link Alert
Wouldn’t you like to know what type of file you are about to visit just by hovering over the link? That is what the folks who wrote this next extension must have had in mind. The Link Alert Firefox extension changes the cursor when you hover over a link to show you what type of file it is. If it is a .txt file, you get a little notepad icon. If it is an image, then you get a little picture icon. Such a simple idea, but it works and works well.
Stop the Dancing GIF!
I hate it when I visit a Web page filled with dancing .gif images. I would have thought that this sort of thing stopped being cool a few years ago, but I still run into it from time to time. To stop the .gif files from moving in Firefox, all you need to do is hit the ESC key. All the dancing will stop and you can get back to work.
The New AdaptiveBlue
I took a look at the blueorganizer Firefox extension a while back, but the folks behind the nifty tool dropped me an E-mail and said I should give it a second look. I did, and I have to say I am pretty impressed with the progress.
With the blueorganizer Firefox extension, your browser becomes smarter. The blueorganizer helps you personalize your web interactions based on what you already like. It harnesses your experiences to help you discover relevant new information and save time.
Flickrfox
Do you want quick and easy access to your Flickr photos? FlickrFox is an extension for Firefox and Flock that lets you browse your Flickr photostreams in a sidebar. After you install it, enjoying your photos is as easy as turning on the sidebar menu. To make that a little easier, you can customize your toolbar and add a Flickrfox icon to it as well. This extension gives you an easy access to your photostreams.
IGoogle Sidebar
We have all seen the Google personalized homepage by now. It is neat and simple, but what if you could get it in a Firefox sidebar? You would think then the usability factor would go way up. You can do so, but to make it easier on you – check out the IGoogle Sidebar Firefox extension.
How to Open a New Blank Tab
Need to open a new tab in a hurry? Sure, you could do it a number of ways. I have one that will get you there faster than all the rest. This is all you need to do:
double-click any empty spots on the tab bar
Now wasn’t that easy?
PayPal Send Money
Are you in a hurry to send some cash to a friend? If you find yourself wanting to give away money you can either give it to me, or pick up this PayPal Firefox extension. The choice is yours!
The PayPal Send Money extension provides a quick way to send money to anyone with an email address. Enter the recipient’s email address and the extension opens a quick link to PayPal’s Website Payments Standard checkout page so you can log in and make a quick payment to a friend.

Firefox 2.0 Delay
Over at TechWeb I found out about some updated news on Firefox 2.0′s release date:
Mozilla Corp. on Monday pushed back the release date of Firefox 2.0 yet again, with a scheduled ship for mid-to-late October. According to the minutes of Mozilla’s weekly progress meetings, there are approximately 40 bugs in the under-construction Firefox 2.0 Beta 2, and about 100 that need to be addressed before the final goes out the door.
Now this is not Microsoft. It isn’t like the Mozilla folks are delaying it by a few years. It just looks like it is getting pushed back a few weeks. If they can make my experience better in those few weeks, then I don’t mind the wait. In fact, my Birthday is on the 17th of October, so if they could get it released on that date, it would be one heck of a birthday present.
