IE7 RC1 vs. Firefox 2 RC1

Somebody must have sneezed, because it is time for another side by side comparison of Internet Explorer and Firefox. This time We are looking at the RC1 release of both browsers.

Internet Explorer version 7 RC1 and Firefox version 2 RC1 are now out so I thought it would be a good time to do some simple side-by-side comparisons. The “RC” stands for Release Candidate, meaning that these are the near-final versions.

Call in for Firefox 2 Launch

They have posted an interesting idea over at SpreadFirefox.com for the launch day of Firefox 2.

On the day of Mozilla’s Firefox 2 release, Firefox fans can
make calls to their local radio and TV stations. We can provide a few talking points and possibly host a conference call for the community to offer tips on how to work with the press. We can provide a list of the top 10 media markets, but no market is too small to hear about Firefox 2.

Why stop there? I say you start picking random numbers in the phone book and let them know about it. Just keep talking till they hang up on you and then try somebody else. :)

Small Screen Renderer

Have you ever wondered what your Web site looks like on a cell phone? The Small Screen Renderer extension for Firefox will help your dreams come true. Sure, you could probably just drag your browser to a tiny width and try to guess on the rest. Why do that though when you have an extension that will do the work for you?

Get the Most Out of StumbledUpon

The folks over at Pronet Advertising have posted a wonderful guide to using my favorite Firefox extension, StumbledUpon.

StumbleUpon is a popular social site that over 1 million people use. It is not as popular as digg or del.icio.us, but it drove 17,209 visitors in the last 25 days to this blog. That makes it a valuable traffic source, so lets see how StumbleUpon works and how you can use it to get traffic to your website.

Using Firefox 2 with CMS

Firefox 2 is coming along really nicely. I just downloaded the RC1 yesterday, and things are looking about as good as they can get. I could see how this newest version would help people get things done a lot faster than in the past as well. Need a good example of this in action? I found one over at CMSReport.com.

Over the past few months I found that Firefox 2 is a browser that has change my browsing style and it will likely do the same for you.

Mozilla Firefox 2 RC1 Released

Well it is finally out, up and running. What is the big deal about release candidate one of Firefox 2? Well, this will be the next nearest thing to the official Firefox 2 browser that we will get. I don’t suspect that many more things will be changed under the hood at this point. There will be some tweaking here and there, but this is pretty much the same browser you will get when Firefox 2 becomes the norm.

Once again, CyberNet News is all over this with multiple download links. He even has a portable version up, so you don’t have to mess with your current Firefox setup on your computer.

Firefox Showcase

We have seen thumbnails for tabs before, that is not exactly new. The Firefox Showcase extension does a little more than just adding thumbnails though. It gives you several ways to check out those preview pictures and does so with style and class.
