It made switching tabs take a touch longer. But then, I started getting error messages every time I switched tabs, and uninstalling it made the errors go away. Well, actually, it's Beryl that takes care of the effects, Xgl just makes sure your computer can handle it even it it's as old as mine. Anyway, the new version of Beryl is supposed to be able to tab windows so then I'll turn of Firefox's tabs and can still have this effect for multiple Firefox windows :D Well, unfortunately this extension is Windows-only, but well, I have Linux with named Xgl.
