Add Favicons to Google

Favicons on GoogleI just love adding favicons to things.

If there was one innovation on the Web I had to pick that I could not live without, it would be our friend the favicon. It just makes browsing through links a little less challenging on the visual side. Now thanks to a Firefox extension you can add favicons to your Google usage as well.

Google Icon enhances search results by adding the favicon next to each search result (if available). Icons make it easier to recognize your favorite websites and breathe more life into that dull search page.

This is indeed a nice addon, thanks for the heads up. Upon seeing this, though, it made me think of another similar (and in my opinion - better) addon: BetterSearch.

It is an extension that adds a thumbnail of the site onto the google results page. Check it out: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/211
  • Looks like an interesting project Seth, thanks for the heads up!
  • Like Favicons? You're going to really enjoy Interclue I think. Sign up for a sneak preview, or wait till we go live next week. And of course, favicons are just the beginning...
