The limit of keeping the window size within the limit of the current screen resolution appears to be a limit set by firefox itself. The extension does no checking of this and will try to resize to whatever dimensions you tell it to. As for opening malformed windows/not resizable, I suspect you are seeing interactions with other extensions that are doing funny things. Also the image resizing function of Mozilla did not work anymore. I can not recommend it. I'm not even sure if it is technically possible, but if it is, do you know of any extension that might do it?
