At least Wikipedia backs me up on this one: "Sargeant is also a misspelling of Sergeant, one of the more challenging English words to spell, which accounts for its frequent appearance in spelling bees." Oddly enough - that's from <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=Sargeant&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a" rel="nofollow">Google link</a> description, the actual Wikipedia page doesn't have that in there.
