Set a Record on Download Day 2008

Download Day 2008Want to help Firefox set a world record? Sure you do! Mozilla and company want to set a world record for the number of browser downloads within 24 hours.

The New York Times ad…Firefox Flicks…the Firefox crop circle…Operation Firefox…you name it! The Firefox community is always up to some cool, collaborative way to declare their passion for Firefox. What better way to do this than band together to set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours?!

Now how can you help?  Right now you can go to the pledge map and let them know you plan on downloading the final version of Firefox 3 when it comes out.  They also have many other ways to get active such as setting up a Mozilla party, follow them on Twitter, get a badge for your site and more.

Oh, that’s right, Windows users need to download it manually :P

While me getting it automatically in Ubuntu is very easy for me, it’s just too bad that it won’t help Mozilla in retrieving the world record because they can’t track those download statistics… ;)
