  • Fixed several security issues.
  • Fixed several stability issues.
  • Fixed an issue where the phishing and malware database did not update on first launch.
  • Under certain circumstances, Firefox 3.0 did not properly save the SSL certificate exceptions list.
  • Updated the internal Public Suffix list.
  • In certain cases, installing Firefox 2 in the same directory in which Firefox 3 has been installed resulted in Firefox 2 being unstable. This issue was fixed as part of Firefox 2.0.0.15.

Apple didn’t bother with getting things fixed that quickly, so Mozilla has jumped on the ball and updated Firefox to version 2.0.0.7 to fix the recent QuickTime vulnerability. If your Firefox hasn’t updated itself – then it should soon

Updated to 3.0.1 on Vista 64 Bit and had it crash on me after 15 minutes. I have seen it crash at least once a day with regular use with no add-ons installed.

After updating I noticed that Fireworks do not let me decide about bookmarks. When I want to have the same page in 2 different folders in bookmarks, instead it moves the first one to the new location. How do I fix this? I use a "workingfolder" for bookmarks that I need like this week and also keep them in other categories. This sux big time.

Firefox has stopped letting me log on through certain 'secure' links at some sites. First it was my banking site, no longer allowing me to access internet banking, now it is a new site that I have never used before that won't allow me to log in to member services online. What the heck is happening?

Updated to 3.0.1 and it messed up my bookmarks and disable a toolbar that worked fine in 3.0.

This is just a "blank" follow up so I get notified via email (forgot to checkoff on last post).

FF 3.0.1 is freezing my computer every 2 hours or so. Just downloaded it yesterday - that's when the trouble started. The only extension I have is FF bookmarks synchronize.

Can I rollback to 3.0 without loosing my bookmarks?

Freezes brand new machine running Vista Ultimate frequently. Will go back to 3.0

I'm still testing to see why FF 3.01 crashes on my PC. Still using Win2k. I'm not sure if it is a combo of apps running with FF or by itself. I do get the blue screen of death and that has never happened before. My dump says some sort of IRQ problem, but I still can't narrow it down.

Yes, I've found 3.0.1 to be unstable, too. I've been using Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox for a LONG time, and I've never had this problem. About every 30 minutes, I get a "Firefox Has Encountered a Problem" screen (words to that effect, and the browser closes. VERY annoying.

    • Might want to check out this post here from Basil on this. He makes some good points related to the upgrade problems with some add-ons.

Marc, haven't had any problems here and Jeff, unless you have an extension that does that, I don't think Firefox let you do that before. I've always double-clicked the free space. :)
    • ehhh
most add ons will not work w/ FF3, so consider that before upgrading!!

This update is very unstable on my machine. Crashed frequently and the internet access freezes for 5-10 seconds every other minute. Does anyone else share this experience?
    • Jeff
i can no longer double-click a tab to open a new tab - now i have to double-click in the blank tab-free space to open a new tab. yuck!
    • Oh boy a new Firefox!!

A word of warning: The Tab Mix Plus extension does not work with Firefox 3.0.1, if you use TMB you may want to wait until itis updated. :)
