HOWEVER! I HAVE FOUND A WAY TO FIX IT!

I kept searching and came across someone asking the same question and sadly they didn't get any help for it but then replied with that they had found a way to fix it.

However I did find a way to solver the problem. I deleted (renamed) the folder staged-xpis in Profiles*stuffextensions and now everything works fine again. Hooray!”

So fist I was like oh my god wait what?? What did you do?! Come back! D;

After flailing around for about 3 mins I sat down and started to figure this out. I had heard a few times about a firefox profile during my search for a fix and had no idea what it was or where to find it. So I looked up “firefox profile?” and found this page where it tells you how to find it on your computer from the firefox site.

Just click “how to find your profile” in the table of contents. This will take you to the part of the page where you can read how to find it depending on what operating system you're using. After you've read this all you need to do is find the profile on your computer and then find the folder for “extensions”.

Once you've found that folder click on one of the folders inside it and look for the folder named “staged-xpis”. Right click on it and rename the folder. I renamed it “renamed” in case I had to find it again to change it if something went wrong. After you've done this simply restart firefox and it will tell you that you either have new add-ons or if you haven't been trying and just wanted to get a theme go and re-download the theme and follow the restart thing and it should actually work now.

So this is what you do again in steps.

1. Click the link I gave you and see how to find your profile if you don't already know.

2. Find your profile and locate the “extensions” folder.

3. Click on a folder within the “extensions” folder and locate the “staged-xpis” folder.

4. Rename the “staged-xpis” folder. example rename it with “renamed”

5. Restart firefox and then re-download theme and complete steps.

6. Be happy you didn't chuck your pc out the window into rush hour traffic before cuz now it's fixed.

It's really quite ironic and funny in a f%#@ me sorta way lol cuz the fix is really so simple and yet was driving you and me crazy. xD

Where is that on FIREFOX? Help!

Note: This will disable add-on compatibility checking.

1. Go to about:config via your location bar and accept the warning.
2. Right-click anywhere in the window and select New->Boolean.
3. Set the name to extensions.Compatibility and click OK.
4. Set the value to false and click OK.
5. Restart your browser.

You may now update Firefox without risking any of your add-ons becoming disabled. An information bar will appear in your add-ons window, notifying you that “Add-on compatibility checking is disabled”. You may click ‘Enable’ here at any time to undo these changes.

You will now be able to install add-ons designed for any version of Firefox, the Mozilla add-ons website will still restrict you to Firefox 3.*.* add-ons however. I can almost guarantee you that any add-ons working within Firefox 3.0 will work flawlessly with Firefox 3.0.1 since it is mainly a security update, and on the add-on side of things it’s basically just a version number which the developers need to update. However, use Firefox 2 add-ons at your own risk!
