Tab Mix Plus has this feature built in since ages ago.
if you use tab mix plus
(which is essential in every new Firefox installation, as it is a very helpful extension to manage tabs behavior)
and use TMP's built in session saver,
then you can drag the "undo" button/drop down list
from the toolbars customize list
(view --> toolbars --> customize)

so if you use TMP, there's no need to install a separate
extension for undo closed tabs
it already exists.

see screenshot in this URL:
http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/1690/undoclosedtabsua7.jpg

in addition, right click on ANY open tab,
will bring up the right click menu
which also includes this drop down list
of closed tabs,
so you don't have to add the button to your toolbar
although it is comfortable and recommended.

cheers!
