We have covered a lot keyboard shortcuts thus far, but today I wanted to cover some of the default tasks you might want to do. Replicating the navigation toolbar, here are the tasks and then the tips on how to get them done quicker with a few strokes of the keyboard keys.
Navigation Bar Keyboard Shortcuts
Choose Your OS: Windows | Linux | Mac OS
Alt + Left Arrow or Backspace = Go Back a Page
Alt + Right Arrow or Shift + Backspace = Go Forward a Page
Alt + Home = Go to your Homepage
F5 or Ctrl + R = Reload a Page
Esc = Stop a Page from Loading
Ctrl + P = Bring up the Print Options
Ctrl + J = Launch the Download Window
Ctrl + H = Open Your History in the Sidebar
Ctrl + B = Open Your Bookmarks in the Sidebar
Ctrl + T = New Tab
Ctrl + N = New Browser Window
Ctrl + X = Cut
Ctrl + C = Copy
Ctrl + V = Paste
There is at least one (and sometimes two) keyboard combinations you can use to get the navigation toolbar tasks done. Anymore keyboard tips you’d like me to go over as we all become Firefox keyboard ninjas?

Handy basic information there, though I’d like to learn how to make a new folder with the push of a button like in xplorer2’s F8 key.
Alt + D = activate awesomebar
Ctrl + K = activate searchbar
Ctrl + U = open view source
Ctrl + W = close tab
Ctrl + Tab = switch tabs
Alt + = switch to tab number
F3 or Ctrl + F = search from open webpage
Ctrl + Z (in input field) = undo last changes
fix for Alt + “number 1-9″ = switch to tab number “number 1-9″

I tend to use Ctrl + T to open a new tab, but this command will delete a bookmark on the Firefox toolbar. There, for example, to open a bookmark in a new tab for a favorite website, you must use Ctrl + W (which elsewhere in Firefox is used for closing a tab).
Why can’t these commands be consistent? I am reluctant to change commands on my own PC since I often use Firefox on other machines.
