Yahoo Recommends Firefox 3 Over IE7

Filed under the “whoops! sorry about that!” department of PR over at Yahoo (then again, they haven’t changed it yet either).  It appears when you go to Yahoo.com via Internet Explorer 7, you are given a message to upgrade to Firefox 3.  How nice of them…

Thanks Yahoo, I am sure Mozilla and the Firefox team appreciates the support!

The bad thing is, they’re promoting the “Yahoo edition” with extra crud.

You see the very same message via Google Chrome, so I guess it’s just an ad.

It’s also shown in Firefox 2, but ofcourse not in FF3. Nice subtle way to promote their branded version :). No harm in them promoting a branded FF I guess. I agree it’s still better than using IE.
