Smart Bookmarks Bar
I have been using just favicons in my bookmarks bar for a while now. I find it a lot easier to manage where I am going – plus it cuts down on toolbar clutter (we all hate that).

To tell you the truth, I have not used the Unsorted Bookmarks feature in Firefox 3 that much at all.  Why?  Well, it is a ‘bit of a pain to get to.  You have to open your bookmark manager,

  karmalily, smart bookmarks bar has a setting to never show the name. it's also granular enough to never show the name unless it's got a generic favicon, so you can tell those apart.

  it hides the names of the tabs. gives a similar effect to smartbookmarks bar except for the tab bar.

  Hi karmalily, this userChrome edit might help - haven't tested it yet myself. Should hide the bookmark toolbar text.

  I think there's another add-on that gets rid of the text completely on the bookmarks toolbar. It just leaves the favicon. I wish I could remember the name of the add-on. I recently re-installed Firefox and can't find this one particular add-on.
