In using Ctrl-F, you just need to press ESC key and it hides automatically right. I like Highlight all option of Ctrl-F very much and to me pressing '/' key is the limited option.

[...] Auto-hide the Firefox Find Bar Pressing Control+F in Firefox will display the find bar, and what can be annoying is that it won’t go away until I manually close it. If this bugs you as well just grab this Firefox extension to make it behave more like when using Find-As-You-Type. That way you can designate an interval for the find bar to automatically close after. [...]

Regarding Mitch's response, when i search for something i usually search for it in many places on the page. The LAST thing i need is to have to keep typing "/" over and over just to continue the search. I still say Ctrl+F is the "better" one of the two :)

I like the fact that the "Quick Find" search is the better of the two because it automatically disappears after I use it.

The idea about this add on is good. But just as roseman said why you find the CTRL-F in firefox not so good one?

Why do you think "/" is the "good" one?!?

Ctrl+F is just as fast, but ALSO allows for "backing up" (Previous) as well as case-sensitive or case-insensitive searches, etc.

/ just brings up the search field WITHOUT any extra features.

How on earth is this better??
