Tired of getting suggestions through the search box in Firefox? There is a really easy way you can disable that feature of the browser. These suggestions are data pulled in from the search engines themselves. Firefox merely retrieves the search suggestions from the search engines, and displays the list to assist you in selecting a search phrase that has been used by many other users throughout the world before.
To disable search suggestions, follow these steps:
- Right-click on the Search Bar.
- Note the Show Suggestions menu item. The current state of search suggestions is shown by the check mark beside it. If the menu item is checked, search suggestions are currently enabled.
- Click on the menu item to toggle the state of search suggestions (changing it from enabled to disabled and vice versa).
There you have it. A quick and easy Firefox tip to help you start your day. If you have any other favorites – be sure to leave them in the comments!
