Clear Recent Firefox Searches

Clear Search HistoryWant to hide what you were previously looking for? It doesn’t have to be a bad thing.  Maybe you just don’t want to see so many search suggestions? Firefox makes it fairly easy to clear one search entry from the search box in the upper-right corner of the browser or you can clear everything.  How so?

To clear all items, right-click on the input field of the Search bar, and select Clear Search History. Your Search bar history is cleared.

To clear individual items from the Search bar history, click on the Search bar input field. Press the down arrow key to scroll the list of items. To delete the highlighted item, press Delete.

That is it.  Firefox makes controlling how it handles searches very easy – however, this tip might not be common knowledge to everybody, so hope this either taught you something new or gave you a refresher on a tip you already knew.

The Firefox search bar is pathetic. I dragged mine into the customize panel to get rid of it. When I come to a search box I right click and click on “Add keyword for this search”. Searching this way allows me to switch search engines much faster. When I back up my bookmarks my search engines get backed up to.
