Need to disable some Firefox Add-ons? Personally speaking, I would consider add-ons to be themes, plugins and extensions you add to Firefox. If you need to troubleshoot a problem with the browser, disabling the Firefox add-ons you have added can sometimes be the quickest way to find the problem.
Here are the steps you will need to follow:
-
At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
- In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance or Plugins panel.
- Select the add-on you wish to disable.
- Click the Disable button.
- Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
To re-enable the add-on, find it in the list of Add-ons and click Enable, then restart Firefox. The real benefit with just disabling an add-on is you can troubleshoot if it is causing a problem without removing it completely.
