Many people have been betting on the fact that Google Chrome might overtake Firefox as the dominate alternative browser to Internet Explorer. To those of you who like to follow this web browser soap opera – I’ve got another twist and/or turn that you will love. According to Net Applications, the overthrowing of Firefox might not happen at all.

Firefox Not Overtaken Yet
Clean up the Add-on Manager
Think that the add-on manager in Firefox looks a little busy? Maybe there is a little too much wasted space there for your liking? No matter what the reason is, I have an extension for you to try out that will give you a much more minimalistic add-on manager interface.
Full Screen Plus
Right from your toolbar in Firefox, you can choose to go full screen or restore a window from any other state with Full Screen Plus. If you like to have your web browser at a certain size for certain tasks, this add-on is a big time saver. The user interface of the add-on gives you four small buttons, four larger buttons or one large button that switches between the two full screen states.
Visualizing Your Reused Passwords
Time and time again, people have suggested that you use multiple passwords for multiple websites. Using the same password over and over again might eventually lead you to trouble – should one of the many accounts you have across the Web ever be compromised. The Password Reuse Visualizer is, if nothing else, a great reminder of this.
FVD Speed Dial
Want to keep all of your favorite websites within your immediate reach? Try out FVD Speed Dial. This add-on for Firefox will save you time. Gone are the days where you have to browse through a countless amount of bookmarks to find the page you wish to browse. Everything is right there and in your face with this speed dial extension.
Firefox Ends Support for Classic Windows Versions
Still using Windows 2000 or Windows XP Pre-SP2? If so, you had better upgrade your operating system. Mozilla’s Asa Dotzler announced that the Firefox team is moving towards using a newer version of the Visual Studio toolchain. Once this is done, Mozilla will no longer be able to build for Windows 2000, or Windows XP SP1.
Sort, Edit, Search and Chart Website Tables
TableTools2 is a great Firefox add-on that will allow you to do all kinds of useful things with tables you find online. For example, if you have to work with tables in your personal life or at work – this extension will let you copy, sort and search data in any table. The add-on is also very fast and works with older versions of Firefox too.
Cookies Control in Firefox
Website cookies are things that most people don’t worry about. However, it is important to know what they are used for and how you can control what information they store about out. Cookies are small files stored on your computer (placed there by websites) so that they can remember certain settings or statuses. By default, cookies are enabled in Firefox.
Right-Click Route to Private Browsing Mode
Firefox’s private browsing mode is pretty sweet when it comes to surfing the Web and hiding your tracks, however it is still relatively difficult to get into. Due to this fact, many people forget it is there or never use the private browsing mode feature. I have found an extension though that allows you to right-click any link and choose to open the link in the private browsing mode in Firefox. It’s name is Open in Private Browsing Mode.
