2 Pane Bookmarks

One neat thing that Opera does well is having two viewing panes for the bookmarks. I don’t know if it is better or worse than doing things the normal way – but it is a different way of browsing through things. If you have wanted to do this yourself – but didn’t want to move away from Firefox, have no fear!

All you need to do is pick up the 2 Pane Bookmark extension for Firefox. This extension does it’s best job to bring this functionality from Opera to your browser of choice, Firefox.

Add Favicons to Del.icio.us

I have just recently given del.icio.us a second shot.

After being kind of disappointed the first time around, I do have to say that I am becoming a little more hooked on the idea now. The whole process is easier, but there was just something missing from the interface.

I needed favicons on these links!

Well, I had a look around and I hunted down a Greasemonkey script that did the job. This script, fav.icio.us2, does one simple job and it does it well. It adds favicons to all the links you see that have been saved to del.icio.us.

Now all I need is more time to save all my favorite links.

Favicon Picker 2

Not too long ago, I shared the fact that my bookmark toolbar menu doesn’t have any text on the bookmarks I have listed there. Text takes up too much room, and why is it needed when you have a favicon for the Web site? The only problem to that is that not every Web site has a favicon to pick. That is where Favicon Picker 2 comes into the picture.

Microsummary Buddy

When it comes to bookmarking Web pages in Firefox, the process could be a lot easier. Sure, it isn’t too hard right now but I want it to be brain dead simple. One extension that I have found that does just that is Microsummary Buddy.

To use microsummaries, you have to know what they are. Microsummaries are regularly-updated short summaries of Web pages. They are small enough to fit in the space available to a bookmark label, they provide more useful information about pages than static page titles, and they get regularly updated as new information becomes available.
