GrayFox Delivers 2 Themes in 1

Ready for a new theme for Firefox to start the new year?  How about a theme that doesn’t just give you one skin to choose from, but rather two?

GrayFox, a new theme for Firefox does exactly that.

Firefox 3.0.11 Downloaded 150 Million Times in 24 Hours

In the first 24 hours that is was available, Firefox 3.0.11 was downloaded 150 million times.   This big news comes on the heels of Apple boasting about 11 million downloads of Safari 4 in three days. *tries not to chuckle*
Now it is likely that both companies included the automatic updates in their download numbers, however that doesn’t really take away from the fact that many more users are getting those latest updates these days, which for security reasons is a [...]

When a Mac Theme Meets Gonzo From the Muppets

Looks like this Firefox theme is feeling a little blue.  The Blu Canidae theme for Firefox is a modified version of the iFox theme with Photoshop CS3 style icons.  The combination of those great features makes for a really nice looking blue/mac-ish theme.
Here is a little more about the theme from the developer:
This was designed to be a cleaner, blue version of iFox. It has stylized buttons, and is intended to be a new alteration of my old [...]

Firefox’s Navigation Bar Keyboard Combo Cheat Sheet (for Macs)

Doing my part to share the knowledge around, a lot of people have requested that I do more to post alternative operating system keyboard combinations here.
So, for those of you who live the Apple lifestyle, here is the way you can navigate around the navigation bar without having to ever lay your fingers on your one button mouse.  If you know of any more (because as you can see, I am not a big Apple user) please share in [...]

A Mac-ish Theme I Actually Like for Firefox?

Every so often, I get an e-mail from somebody saying that I don’t check out enough Mac style themes.  While they might not be my favorite (due to a lot of them looking the same) I do have one favorite I would like to share.  ACE Safari Foxdie is one I think that anybody could be a fan of – no matter what your operating system of choice might be.

Download the version you want to use here:

Firefox 3 Faster than Safari Where?

In a funny, yet surprising twist of fate it looks like the ZDNet guys found that using SunSpider JavaScript benchmark tests that Firefox 3 Beta 5 is faster than Safari 3.1… on a Mac!

That has to be a little ‘bit of an embarrassment for the Apple team but good news for all the Apple users out there that are looking forward to trying out and switching to Firefox 3 – once the final version hits the streets.  Sure, [...]

Safari Auto Installs to Bulk User Numbers?

Just think of all the people out there who have installed iTunes and either use it religiously or just have it to say they have it. Now think of all those people all of the sudden got a “magical gift” from Apple that included a free download of Safari the next time they did the Apple Software Update.
Many are pretty angry about Apple using it’s software updating service to push out updates for products people never downloaded. [...]

Cover Flow for Bookmarks

There is no doubt that the cover flow feature on Apple machines reeks of pretty eye candy that I wish I could enjoy.  I don’t have a budget big enough for a Mac or the time to learn how to use it, so I’ll have to stick with the knock-offs for now.  BookmarksPreviews (found via Download Squad) is a new addon to Firefox that wants to copy that fresh cover flow feeling with your bookmarks.

At the time of writing this [...]

Put Firefox in Pinstripe

Remember when I told you last week how to install themes from new sources? Well I have yet another cool looking theme you can practice that on. The Pinstripe 2.2 theme for Firefox by tanjihay over at DeviantArt.com.

Sure it has that “Apple-like” flavor, but even Windows or Linux users can pretend right? Trying my best to forget about the Appleness myself and just keep telling myself it is a cool brushed-metal looking theme. Over [...]

Get Your Purple ToonSkin

Purple, wacky but some-what purdy the ToonSkin theme for Firefox has a little ‘bit of something for everybody to enjoy. Been playing around with this one this morning, and have to say it is pretty nice. It’s a fully functional theme with a purple tint and a nice mix of Windows and Apple design techniques.
The only thing I wish is that it dealt a little better with having the toolbars in different places. If your [...]
