According to a recent study on the navigational hot spots within Firefox, Home is still ranks 37.6% as far as the most popular interface features go.

So leave your thoughts in the comments. Is the home button still relevant in your day to day browsing, or have you ditched it?

From time to time, I like to share with you some of the ugliest popular themes I can find for Firefox. These three themes though might be the cream of the crop when it comes to just plain bad themes. Then again, I will let you be the judge. Is beauty in the eye of the beholder – or are these themes just unusable?

BloodFire 3 – This theme is named like a bad horror movie that went straight to DVD. The black backgrounds, with red fonts and buttons can’t be good for your eyes either, can it?

Flaminglow – What happens when you mix Pepto-Bismol, flamingos and a Firefox theme? You get Flaminglow. Even the theme’s creator knows he will get hate mail for this one, because he writes on the download page for the theme in question, “Please do not give me a bad review if you find unreadable text”. I am pretty sure that is a good reason to give you a bad review. The unreadable text is only the beginning however.

Glowywine – Ever wanted to make using a web browser less of an fun experience and, well – more like staying at the sleaziest Las Vegas casino you could find? The funniest thing I could bring up about this theme is it features a review that says, “Highly usable. Easy on the eyes.” Really? Easy on the eyes?

Leave your thoughts in the comments. Want to defend one of these themes, or have you found one that looks even worse?

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Now I am not one to usually fight the Firefox community, but this just kind of take the cake for being totally absurd. How in the heck does the Lolifox by ChaosRing Theme have these kind of download numbers?

5,982 weekly downloads

6,327 total downloads

Just look at it! All they did was take the CrystalFox Modern theme and put a creepy picture of a fox-child-thing on it and make the background bright green.

This ugly theme does bring up one good point, which is – what is Mozilla’s policy when somebody openly steals another person’s theme or design?

Now sure, there might be some other not-so-great looking themes out there however they have their audiences, so you have to respect that. On the other hand though, the Lolifox theme is the worst theme I have seen in a very long time.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Security Zone Policy Errors – This seems to be more of a problem than most people realize. From this one blog post, I see people coming in every day having issues with it. So, should Firefox be relying on Windows security settings for downloading applications and other potentially unsafe files from the Internet?

Descriptions for Bookmarks – Have you ever right-clicked a bookmark, Went down to properties and typed in a description about a page you had saved? No, I haven’t either – so this might be another Firefox feature ready for the junk yard. Name, Location, and Keyword is good enough for me.
