"BFT EVO", born from my first theme Bloomind FT Graphite "ashes", is a theme that has been created to fully transform the look of Firefox for Windows users. As all the Bloomind theme serie it contains no added functionalities and it has been especially designed for Seven, but rendering is relatively accurate on XP and Linux (I don t own a MAC so I can t test my theme on this platform to check if rendering is ok, but according to few MAC users who tried my different works, Bloomind themes seem to be MAC friendly too :) So if MAC users would like to try any Bloomind theme, they can force download and drag the file into the addons manager page to install it).

Bloomind FT DeepDark 2 really transforms the look of Firefox 4+ for Windows users.  It has been tested to work though on both Windows and Linux with little to no issues.  The entire theme is very sleek looking.  I hope to see more Firefox themes like it in the future that pay attention to detail and get every inch of the browser themed over like Bloomind FT DeepDark 2 does.

When push comes to shove this is a clean theme with cool colors.  You can pick Bloomind FT DeepDark 2 up from the Firefox Add-ons website.  If you’d like to see it in a different color, you might also browse through some of the other variations that have been released.

Time to dig through the newest Firefox themes to see what treasures we can find.  Today’s selection comes in three different flavors, green, purple and black and is known simply as LavaFox.

Now I have mentioned before that is is really hard to make a usable dark Firefox theme, but I think LavaFox does a great job at getting the job done.  It doesn’t seem too dark – and is still really usable and great to look at.  The sleek black interface will look great on any Windows 7 or Windows Vista desktop too.

Just about every aspect of the skin is themed too – which is nice to see that they paid that much attention to the details.  Want to give them a shot?

It isn’t that often I get to gush over how awesome a dark theme for Firefox is.  There just are not that many worth getting worked up over.  However, the SmallringFX series of themes are well worth downloading and trying for yourself.

Coming in dark blue and magenta, this theme is about ask dark, cool and collected as a dark theme for Firefox can get.  Sometimes, it might be a little too dark even. The only bad thing I found about this theme is the toolbar tips are even black with white text, so it often comes up looking odd.  Other than that though, I can find no complaints about either of these themes – and highly recommend them both.

Looking for a darker Firefox theme, that has some aspects of the new Firefox 4.0 look built inside?  If so, check out NightShade.  This slick dark theme is almost a perfect representation of how a great dark theme should look.

In the creator’s own words – this theme came about to be an updated version of the popular RulerDark theme.  So if you have seen it before, this is probably where you saw it last.  However, it appears the creator of RulerDark stopped updating it – so the new creator found a perfect place to step in and take over a great looking Firefox theme.

From time to time, I like to share with you some of the ugliest popular themes I can find for Firefox.  These three themes though might be the cream of the crop when it comes to just plain bad themes.  Then again, I will let you be the judge.  Is beauty in the eye of the beholder – or are these themes just unusable?

BloodFire 3 – This theme is named like a bad horror movie that went straight to DVD.  The black backgrounds, with red fonts and buttons can’t be good for your eyes either, can it?

Flaminglow – What happens when you mix Pepto-Bismol, flamingos and a Firefox theme? You get Flaminglow.  Even the theme’s creator knows he will get hate mail for this one, because he writes on the download page for the theme in question, “Please do not give me a bad review if you find unreadable text”.  I am pretty sure that is a good reason to give you a bad review. The unreadable text is only the beginning however.

Glowywine – Ever wanted to make using a web browser less of an fun experience and, well – more like staying at the sleaziest Las Vegas casino you could find? The funniest thing I could bring up about this theme is it features a review that says, “Highly usable. Easy on the eyes.”  Really? Easy on the eyes?

Feeling a little iBlu today?

This is a great unique theme I have been keeping my eye on for some time now.  Gradient iBlu gives you a nice and simple black interface to work from with gradient colored blue icons, that stand out from the rest of the pack.

Does this theme look a little familiar to you?  Well, if you find yourself thinking that, you might go back and check out my review of Gradient iCool.  It has the same great interface and button setup, but has shinny buttons instead.

This is one of the few dark Firefox themes I could see myself using on a regular basis.

BlackFox is a very nice looking dark theme, with just a hint of red to help highlight your selected browser elements.  The entire them has been designed to be focused, compact, and easy on the eyes.

The theme’s author also promises that it is compatible with a long list of popular extensions too.

The Stratini theme is not a new theme to Firefox Facts readers, as I have already sung it’s praises once before. But now, the developer has released a darker version of the same theme – and I do have to say – it looks very sleek.

Here is a little more about the theme from the developer:

Black Stratini is my Stratini theme with a dose of the darkness. All highlights are in dark blue, as blue is the most common highlight color for Windows and Mac color schemes. Black Stratini uses Stratini Padded icons and spacing in Large Icons mode and Stratini icons in Small Icons and Teeny modes. This gives Black Stratini the unique ability to have three very different sizes in one package.
