When a Mac Theme Meets Gonzo From the Muppets

Is Firefox Feeling a Little Blue?

Looks like this Firefox theme is feeling a little blue.  The Blu Canidae theme for Firefox is a modified version of the iFox theme with Photoshop CS3 style icons.  The combination of those great features makes for a really nice looking blue/mac-ish theme.

Here is a little more about the theme from the developer:

This was designed to be a cleaner, blue version of iFox. It has stylized buttons, and is intended to be a new alteration of my old theme, Blu Vos. I hope you like it. If you can, please leave a comment and a review. This helps me out immensely. If you run into any problems, or find any flaws, please tell me! I want to make this theme better, and your assistance makes that possible.

You can pickup the Clu Canidae theme yourself on the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Go Wii With Your Firefox

WiiFox theme for Firefox

Ready to make your Firefox browser a little more Wii-like?  WiiFox, a new theme for Firefox, is based on the highly popular video game system the Nintendo Wii.  It doesn’t really rip anything off directly, it just takes inspiration really from the Wii’s own internet browser and interface.

If you like the theme, be sure to let the developer know.  Since it is right now an “experimental” theme, I am sure feedback would be appreciated in any way you can give it. Savaden, the theme’s creator, is becoming a favorite of mine to watch – as he also brough us the Mushroom Kingdom Firefox theme too.  You can pick up the WiiFox theme on the Firefox Add-ons site.

Neon Themes for Firefox Fans

Bright bold themes, with a dark undertone are hard to find.  In most cases, you have a dark theme that is all dark, or a light them that is all bright, but never to the two seem to mix that often.  Here we have three themes that do a great job at the dark (yet bright) look and feel.

Now, nobody can deny that all three of these themes are unique in their own way.  If you are looking for a set of themes that are different from the rest, you have stumbled upon the right review.  Personally I am not a big fan of the Las Vegas neon light look and feel – but hey, who am I to judge.

A Mac-ish Theme I Actually Like for Firefox?

Every so often, I get an e-mail from somebody saying that I don’t check out enough Mac style themes.  While they might not be my favorite (due to a lot of them looking the same) I do have one favorite I would like to share.  ACE Safari Foxdie is one I think that anybody could be a fan of – no matter what your operating system of choice might be.

Also, if you need a Thunderbird skin that matches, there are two more choices for you made by the same great developer, John Locke.  Check out ACE CuteBird (Blue) or ACE CuteBird (Graphite).  For more news, updates and information on John’s theme work, check out foxdie.us.

Midnight iPox is a Mashup of Twisterness

I have always been a big fan of TwisterMC’s work on Firefox themes, and apparently so are a lot of you.  One reader on TwisterMC’s blog even went as far as combining two of his themes (MidnightFox and iPox Aqua) to make this beauty, Midnight iPox.

Midnight iPox

You can pick the theme up at TwisterMC’s web site.  Just download it from there, then open Firefox, go to Tools > Add-ons and drag Midnight-iPox.jar into the left side of the Themes section.  Once it has been installed, restart Firefox to be able to use it.  Always love to see the openness and creativity of the Mozilla fan base – and this is a perfect example of that at its best.

Multi-Colored Versions of Firefox’s Default Theme

Have a love for the default Firefox 3 theme (also known as Strata) but just wish it was all one color? If you find yourself in this proverbial boat – I have some good news.  You now have several different colors to choose from when it comes to using the default Firefox theme.

Like Staying in a Cheap Las Vegas Casino, Glowy Themes

The “Glowy” series of themes never won me over greatly.  Mainly, this is due to the reason that they remind me of a cheap Las Vegas Casino.  I don’t want to say too many harmful words – I mean I am sure there are people who love this series of themes.  I’d just rather not have my browser look so.. well, tacky.

Click the image above to go to that theme’s download web page.  If there is anything nice to be said, it would be that at least they aren’t another Apple-theme clone.  Now those, I could really do without.

So cheers to the “Glowy” series, and for making the PimpZilla theme almost look boring with it’s over to the top antics.

The Secret of a Good Dark Theme for Firefox

heavencube I have said before, there are not many dark Firefox themes that I like that much.  Maybe I’m just too happy to enjoy the lights being turned out in the browser.  Heaven.Cube, a new theme for Firefox 3, might change my mind.  It has style.  It has darkness.  Best of all, (here is the secret!) it is very unique.

After using it for a while, you’ll get the feeling that your browser is almost glowing.  All the icons are shinny and bright.  Putting that against the dark background really makes them look good.  As far as what I’d like to see in the future, I could see all kinds of various colors being released (personally, I’d like to see a dark green and black one).
