Need a quick an easy way to see what two plus two is? I am pretty sure the answer is still four – but I could be wrong. That is why I like to have the Calculator Bar handy. This Firefox extension gives you one of those “number adding machines” on top of your status bar.

Reader Jerry points out that Firefox 2’s suggest-as-you type Google search box is an instant calculator. Simply type your mathematical formula into the search box (Alt-K Cntrl-K to get there quick) and you’ll get your answer even before you hit the equals sign. Awesome.
This extension for Firefox is pretty straight forward. It gives you the ability to have a little calculator in your sidebar for all those times you need to crunch some numbers on the Web. Sure, I haven’t ever had to do that either – but it is nice to know it is there.
