Here is a little more about the theme from the designer:

This skin makes Firefox 4 look like Firefox 1.5. Remember the cute skin it was… simply amazing. With this skin, the interface, the tabs, and the download manager were reskinned to look like Firefox 1.5. Useless stuff cluttering the address bar, like the Bookmarks star, the RSS icon and the Go Button have been removed in order to simplify the interface. The ugly green security bar has also been removed.

Personally I think some of the spacing and padding seems to be a ‘bit off, so I can’t use this as my everyday Firefox theme, however I do wish them the best of luck with keeping the old Firefox 1.5 theme alive.

There are a lot of people out there that still enjoy the “good ol’ days” of Firefox, and with this theme, you can re-live your memories while still getting all the benefits of the Firefox 3 upgrade.  Personally, I like this theme icons at least, a lot more than I do the current Firefox default theme.  Maybe I too am one of those who has an emotional bond with this previous version of the browser.

Here are some special features of the theme:

• URL Dropmarker has been Removed (check here if you need it)
• The Stop and Reload buttons have been merged to save space
• URL bar is colored green if the SSL cert is safe, yellow if weak and red it broken.
• All Menus have Icons
• Increased Font Size for the Menu Bar
• Active Tabs now Have an Orange Border Line

Take a trip back to Firefox’s past and pickup the Winstripe Modernized theme at the Firefox Add-ons site.

The tiny little theme we all know and love is now ready for Firefox 3.  Classic Compact might be my favorite out of all the “Mini Me” themes out there for Firefox.  Not only does it shrink the browser interface of Firefox but it also does so in a visually appealing way.

Not only do we get a theme to share though, we awesome have an add-on to help customize Classic Compact even more.  The rightfully named Classic Compact Options extension gives you a little more control over the specific theme itself.

Options include: FF2 buttons; keyhole arrows; turning off gradient backgrounds; modifying borders; OS scrollbars; dark system color support; merging menu bar into one menu button; etc.

So if your already growing tired of the default Firefox 3 theme, might give Classic Compact a shot.

Feel like you need a more traditional looking Firefox interface, but still don’t want the ugly mess that some Firefox themes out there deliver? For tradition, style and class I direct your attention to the CrystalFox Classic theme.

You need to pick up Winstripe Modern then. I don’t know what it is, but something just feels right about this theme. It works for me on a visual sense, and is still one of my top ten favorite themes. You might check the previews to get a closer look at the interface – but you know it, you love it – so why don’t you have it?
