I do have to say, I don’t mind the change.  All of the design aspects from Firefox 3 that they decided to keep feel like they fit right in with Firefox 4.  I think I might actually use this theme for a while.

Even though Firefox 4 might not yet be ready for the public, it does not hurt to take a look at some of the nice themes that have been developed for the browser of the future.  One theme that caught my eye for Firefox 4 is AvantGarde. It brings a unique new look to the Firefox 4 browser interface.

Once Firefox 4 gets released, one of the first things people will want to do is change the way it looks.  That is the reason we have themes for Firefox in the first place, right? AvantGarde brings a colorful and fun browsing experience to the Mozilla browser.

Here is a little more about the theme from the developer.

"Avant-garde" is a French term, with no real English translation, that essentially means "out of the cultural or accepted norm". Avant-garde artists and designers push the boundaries of what is known, and considered normal – and that’s what this theme is all about. It pushes the boundaries of colour, visual association, and user experience.

After my last post, let us all take a look at a good Firefox theme this time around.  Springshine is a playful and colorful little theme to help your browser move into the season of Spring.

I do have to say, I love the roundness of it all.  The simple vibe it puts off, is also well worth checking out.  For those who want your browser to be more about slight decoration changes and not a slap in the face with an entirely new look – Springshine is for you.

If you use Windows Vista/Windows 7, install Glasser for window transparency.

You can decorate your browser with Springshine by visiting the Firefox Add-ons profile page for it, and click the big shinny green “Add to Firefox” button.

Looking to make your web browser a little more blue?  I am here to give the Bluetacular theme for Firefox two thumbs up, for an original look and feel when it comes to giving Firefox a new face.

While the color choices used in the theme might be too busy for some, I do have to give the designer of this theme credit for bringing an original design idea and concept into his work.  As the notes on this release say, this is a work in progress too – so if you like this theme, it will only get better from here.

Very clean and easy on the eyes, two things you can say about the ArzoFox theme for Firefox.  I like themes that can make the browser experience better just by touching up a few things.  The gradient background, mixed with the colorful icons is a great combination that is really hard to beat.

I can not get enough of the Mushroom Kingdom theme for Firefox.  In version two, a lot of the icon work has been re-done to make it even more colorful and unique.  As the author of the theme said, “All of the icons are new, but kept close to the originals to remain familiar to previous users.”  Personally, I like the changes.

This is a very worthy tribute to Nintendo for sure.  Go check out my thoughts on the previous Mushroom Kingdom theme for Firefox, or go grab this all-new edition!

I am afraid there isn’t much more of  back story about it that I could find, because much of the conversation about it on the Web is all in like Chinese, so enjoy it for what it is – a great looking theme for Firefox.  I also found another theme by the same name, (SoCool) however couldn’t get it to install correctly after downloading it via Mozilla’s site. 

Go download the SoCool-Calx theme for Firefox, and let me know what you like (or dislike) about it.

What basically started as a small project to simplify and shrink the default Strata Theme has turned into a distinct theme. The icons are designed around the simplified Stop, Reload, Back and Forward icons of Strata… expanding those basic elements across the entire interface.

I really enjoy the themes that can keep it simple, yet give me something new and fresh to look at that doesn’t look like it was ripped from the theme down the street.  Both Stratini and Stratini Padded pass those test, so they get two enthusiastic thumbs up from this Firefox fan.
