First, you will want to right-click on the Navigation Toolbar. Next, select or un-select the "Tabs on Top" option. When you do so, the tabs will either switch back to the top of the website viewing area or to the top of the window.

So no matter if you are more of a traditionalist (and enjoy your tabs in the old location) or you are ready for new and exciting things (and want to put your tabs on top) there is an option for both in Firefox 4.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
So, to help follow that eventual trend in design – let us go ahead and shrink the new Add-on Bar down some with Barlesque.

Barlesque is a Firefox 4+ extension that will do the job. Once installed, make sure you have the Add-on Bar turned on (by going to View > Toolbars > Add-on Bar under the Firefox button). You should then see that the Add-on Bar is no longer across the bottom of the window. It is now collapsed into the corner of the screen. This way the add-on bar will only take up a fraction of your overall screen real estate.

You have the option to place the icons from the Add-on Bar either to the bottom left or bottom right parts of the screen too.

You can pick up Barlesque from the Mozilla Add-ons website.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
Sure, it is just living up there at the top of the window – minding it’s own business. I say we need to find him a new home though, and thankfully we can with the Movable Firefox Button add-on for Firefox.

Once installed, this add-on will put the Firefox button in your tab bar as a default. However, you can still move it around by right-clicking on the menu toolbar, then going to "Customize". After doing so, you can drag the Firefox button to any location you want in the browser.

Want to restore it to the default location? Simply uninstall the Movable Firefox Button add-on.

This will hopefully give those who want a little more control in Firefox 4 when it comes to customization a early Monday morning present. There are other add-ons out there that will let you do more all-in-one tweaking to the Firefox 4 toolbar layout, but if you simply need to move the Firefox button then the Movable Firefox Button add-on will do the job for you.

You can pick up this add-on from the Firefox Add-ons website.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Need a better tool to help you format webpages, before you print them? Print Edit, a Firefox add-on, makes this really easy. If your stuck on a website that does not offer a "printer friendly" version of the document you need a hard copy of – give this excellent extension a download.

After hooking into your Firefox print preview screen, Print Edit lets you compact the layout and remove unwanted content such as sidebars, blank spaces and adverts. Just about any element on a page can be formatted, hidden or deleted as you see fit to do so.

Here is a little more about the add-on from the developer:

Print Edit mode is entered from Print Preview mode by clicking on the Edit button next to the Close button on the toolbar. Alternatively, Print Edit mode can be entered from the Print Edit button menu on the main toolbar, or from the Print submenu on the context menu (after right-clicking the web page). The Print Edit button can be added to the main toolbar by right-clicking the toolbar and selecting Customize.

The Print Edit add-on gives the browser user a lot of flexibility when it comes to printing out online documents. It saves time, and I really could not find a single flaw with the execution of this excellent idea. You can pick up Print Edit from the Firefox Add-ons website.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Want to bring the clean and classic look of the KDE graphical desktop environment to Firefox? The Oxygen KDE theme for Firefox does it with style. Giving you an alternative modern theme to browse the web in, this theme for Firefox is sure to become a favorite.

Not only is it simple, lightweight and easy on the eyes, but there are a lot of ways you can customize it if you have the Stylish extension installed too.

Oxygen Color Scheme

Obsidian Coast Color Scheme

Honeycomb Color Scheme

There are also some browser tweaks you can bring into play with this theme, using the Stylish add-on for Firefox:

Remove the shadow of back/forward buttons

Remove the arrows of toolbar containers

Oxygen KDE is a very nice looking theme for the Firefox browser. it is very subtle in its design, and does a nice job at making browsing using Firefox a lot more slick looking. You can pickup the theme to use yourself over at the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Ready for a new theme for Firefox to start the new year? How about a theme that doesn’t just give you one skin to choose from, but rather two?

GrayFox, a new theme for Firefox does exactly that.

You see, the image you see above is from the theme when you have “Use Small Icons” checked in the Customize Toolbar window (right-click the navigation toolbar > select customize). If you use un-check the option to use small icons, then the theme switches to look like this:

Pretty neat, hu? The theme obviously has inspiration from Apple’s OSX, and Safari – but I won’t hold that against them.

Now for my next trick, I will let you know where you can find this awesome new theme for Firefox. You can download the GrayFox theme for Firefox from the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Telling you what time it is seems like a trivial task for any modern browser, however many leave the job to your operating system.

However, if you have hidden your clocks and need a way to tell what time it is from Firefox, Statusbar Date is the perfect add-on for the job.

This extension uses format specifiers to allow you to display the date/time in your status bar however you want. You can even mix in regular text with your desired format. Some of the other features are:

Displays the current date/time in the status bar.

Left clicking on Statusbar Date toggles it to contract, only showing the icon in the status bar. Clicking on it again will cause it to expand once again.

Right clicking on Statusbar Date opens the Options dialog.

Middle clicking on Statusbar Date toggles parts of the format that are enclosed by ( ) to contract/expand.

You can download the Statusbar Date plugin from the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

What does does this extension for Firefox allow you to do? Well, if you can navigate forward if you right-click with your mouse on the Firefox border too. If you are using tabbed browsing, middle-click on the left border to close the current tab, or rotate the mouse-wheel to cycle through your current tabs.

To learn more about how to tweak this add-on, check out this tutorial:
