For example, if you have to work with tables in your personal life or at work – this extension will let you copy, sort and search data in any table. The add-on is also very fast and works with older versions of Firefox too.

Here is a little more information about TableTools2 from the developer:

Whether you’re a sports fan checking out stats of your favorite quarterbacks, a music fan viewing a listing of top selling albums, a gamer searching for top games, a shopper comparison shopping, a scientist analyzing data tables …, you’ll find TableTools2 tremendously helpful.

Some of the other features include the ability to compare data, combine tables, rearrange the things you are looking at, chart the data into pie chats, line charts, histograms and more.

Want to give it a shot? You can download TableTools2 from the Firefox Add-ons website. It is definitely the best add-on out there if you need to work with tables and data.

Looking for an alternative way to manage your bookmarks? ViewMarks might be the solution.

This interesting extension for Firefox will give you customizable thumbnail previews for all of your favorite links.

The idea behind ViewMarks is a simple one. It gives you an easy and alternative way to organize and use the bookmarks you might visit every single day. Upon the creation of a bookmark, a preview image is captured and saved to the browser. You can then use the webpage view of the add-on to navigate through them, organize them, copy them, edit them and more. It gives you a better visual representation of all your saved links.

Here is a little more about the add-on from the developer:

You can open different bookmark folder in different tabs and directly link to them. Missing preview images are automatically captured when opening a bookmarked web page. All preview images can also be copied to the clipboard and loaded from file.

Give it a shot, if you are looking for a more visual way to navigate through your own collection of saved bookmarks. You can pick up ViewMarks from the Firefox Add-ons website, or learn more about the project from codepad.de.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Ever needed to search through, correct or delete the entries that are saved to the form history inside of Firefox? With Firefox alone, this can not be done. If you download the add-on Form History Control – then you will be optimizing your saved form history in no time at all.

If you don’t clear your browser’s recent history religiously, you might have noticed that you have several entries to choose from when you start to type inside of a text form.

The Form History Control add-on for Firefox gives you the ability to do all kinds of neat things with this information. You can sort the list of form history. You can filter (by selecting one of the filters) to slim down the list of forms you are checking into. You can edit past phrases that have been saved, to correct them for spelling or grammar too. The best tool included with Form History Control might be the cleanup option. This will automate the removal of form history.

The history of specific form fields can easily be managed by right clicking in the form you wish to manage. You can then select to delete the complete history for that specific form, delete the current value you have selected or go in and manage the entries for this one form.

You can pick up the Form History Control add-on from the Firefox Add-ons website.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

I think everybody, at times, would like to be able to customize certain web sites to better meet their goals. Now, I am not talking about simple visual edits – like making the background black and the text white. How about adding keyboard shortcuts for certain web site links and navigation elements? You an do that and more with the Customize Your Web add-on for Firefox.

So do you want to customize web sites without writing one single line of code? Check out this video tutorial for a little more information about the Customize Your Web add-on for Firefox.

Some of the other customizations featured include:

Removal and rearrangement of elements (cut / copy / paste behavior)
Modifying of elements in every possible way (changing size, color, default values etc.)

Definition of keyboard shortcuts / shortstrings for any clickable element (shortstrings are multi-character shortcuts, e.g. "SO" for a "Sign out" Button)

Adding keyboard navigation support for any list of elements (e.g. for the result entries of search)

Insertion of arbitrary HTML and JavaScript code

Definition of small macros which are triggered by a shortcut

Automatically triggering actions on page load (e.g. for automatic click on a login button or focusing a special field)

I am just having fun playing around with this add-on figuring out all the things I can do with it. For some, it might seem a little complex, however there is extensive documentation to help you along.

Want to tweak the way the download manager from within Firefox works? You can now tweak the way downloads are handled in a number different ways with the Download Manager Tweak add-on for Firefox.

The main thing you might notice, right off the bat, is the ability to changes download manager’s appearance and allow the download manager to be opened in a window, tab, or sidebar.

A few more options available to you are:

The ability to always ask where to save a file or always save files to one default location

Open the download manager after a delay of X milliseconds

Show or hide the toolbar on the bottom of the window

Show or hide the infobar, attached to the folder

Disable or enable the download manager theme changes

and much more!

This is an add-on for Firefox I could seriously see adding to my default add-ons list I put on every personal Firefox install I do, it is that cool. The Download Manager Tweak extension is free to download, so give it a shot – and let me know how much you enjoy it.

Firefox 3.5’s new tab button has already been established as a feature some people like and some people could do without. However, what if you could tweak it visually to meet your needs? That is what some people have done, and here are the eight most popular new tab button hacks out there today.

Please Note: To use any of these, you will need to have the Firefox add-on Stylish installed.

No Icon Image Until Click – New tab button icon does not appear until you CLICK on it instead of when you hover because there is another style that produces that effect.

Tiny + 3D(Special Effects) – New Tab Button on the tab bar is tiny and when you click on it, it changes.

Left Side New Tab Button – Move the new tab button to the left of the tab bar, instead of the far right of the tab bar.

Smaller New Tab Button – make the new tab button smaller, which changes how it looks in the Firefox interface (makes it more of a button).

Change the New Tab Icon into a Firefox Icon – Want something a little more colorful to show you how to open a new tab? This user style will replace your new tab icon with the Firefox icon.

Round off the New Tab Button – Give that new tab button a rounded off edge, so it isn’t such a square.

Change the New Tab Button Color – with this, the new tab button will become another color when you hover.

Remove the Open a New Tab Button – Don’t like the new tab button? With this user style you can get rid of it all together.

Hope you enjoyed these Stylish tweaks from the awesome coders at UserStyles.org. If you have another favorite style edit for Firefox 3.5’s new tab button, or you fully enjoyed any of these tweaks, be sure to let us know in the comments.

I am always taking screenshots of this, that and the other for all the various writing projects I have going on the Web. For me, finding something that makes that job even a little ‘bit easier, is a great thing indeed. This is where the Pict Uploader comes into play.

This Firefox add-on integrates with your browser to provide a way to make screenshots with one click, and if you wish upload them to the Pict.com image hosting service.

Here are some of the other features Pict Uploader will provide:

Capture screenshots of websites

Capture screenshot of whole website

Capture screenshot of visible area

Capture screenshot of custom selected area

Edit screenshots

Save screenshots in jpg/png formats

Well worth trying out, especially if you do any daily screen captures. You can pick up the Pict Uploader on the Firefox add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Here are a few example tips and tricks:

This extension adds a new menu item when you right-click any of your bookmark folders to allow you to bookmark your current web site you are viewing into that folder. Here are a few more features to get excited about.

Expand all fields of bookmark popup panel.

Allow customize the position of “Add Bookmark Here” & “Open All Tabs”

Allow to add bookmarks from the top of Bookmark Menu.

Allow to insert a bookmark by using right-click on a bookmark.

Auto remember last selected folder when you bookmark a page

New option: Don’t show the Edit Dialog when I add a bookmark.

New option: Click the Bookmark Star once to show the Edit Dialog.

This is a small change that really does make bookmarking just a little easier. You can pick up Add Bookmark Here 2 on the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
