How do you use it?  That much is simple:

1. Click the "Add Proofreader" link on your link bar to add a Proofread button above each text box.
2. Click to find spelling mistakes, misused words, and grammar errors
3. Click to continue editing.

Right now the bookmarklet does have a few limitations, such as it is limited to 7,000 characters worth of text, and it only works in text area form elements, however this is a great way to bring a great tool with you, no matter what web site you are on.

TinEye claims to be the world’s first reverse image search engine.  Rather than typing in a phrase and looking for a picture, you type in a picture and get other pictures like it – or something like that.  Thanks to the TinEye add-on for Firefox, you can get instant image searching done right from the browser.

Here is a little more about TinEye from it’s developers:

TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks.

When you submit an image to be searched, TinEye creates a unique and compact digital signature or ‘fingerprint’ for it, then compares this fingerprint to every other image in our index to retrieve matches.

TinEye does not typically find similar images; it finds exact matches including those that have been cropped, edited or resized.

Once installed, you can right-click on any image, and select “Search Image on TinEye”.  When you do, you’ll be taken to an TinEye web page, that will display your search results.

It might not be a tool for everybody, but I do find the idea of reverse image searching very interesting and fun to play with.  You can learn more about it at TinEye.com.

• Remove splitter between the URL and Search bars to save space

• Remove the Bookmark star, I use Ctrl-D instead
• Remove the URL bar Go button

• Make the active tab wider (when you have a few tabs open)

The Better GCal extension for Firefox wraps some of the best Greasemonkey scripts into one easy to install extension. Editing the options of the extension allows you to also turn certain features on and off. Here are some of my favorite Greasemonkey scripts that have been included:

• Google Calendar Air Skin
• Collapse the Header and Sidebar
• Colorize Weekends
• Force Secure Connections (via https)

Plus a lot more tweaks and edits you can do.

If you use Google Calendar (or you think you might if a few things were changed around) then I would suggest giving this extension a shot.

Are you using the latest Firefox 2 and Tab Mix Plus, and getting sick of discovering hidden tabs when you have too many open?

Try this: Display : Tab Bar : When Tabs Don’t Fit : select “multi-row”, and then tell it to use only one row.

This should prevent too many tabs from getting your tabs hidden, and instead go back to simply squashing all your tabs together (like it did with Firefox 1.5 and the old Tab Mix Plus).

I couldn’t find an extension for this, and I didn’t dig too deep into the developers documentation, but I did find something in the chrome/browser.jar file. In order to remove the option you need to edit a file in that archive.
