Looking for the best way to keep an eye on the skies this Thanksgiving weekend? Look no further than the AniWeather add-on for Firefox. This extension animates weather information for locations all around the world. Using the weather watching site, Aniweather.com – you get real-time condition updates, and a five-day forecast.

Some of the other great features of AniWeather include:

Link to more detailed views seamlessly

Lots of graphics and animated reports

Easy one click switching of locations for travel

Coverage for over 70,000 worldwide locations

I would easily put this add-on up against any other weather-related extension out there, as far as functionality and information goes. It ranks up there with the best. You can learn more about the AniWeather add-on for Firefox at AniWeather.com or download it at the Firefox Add-ons site.

If you are looking for an extension to copy all the URLs in the open tabs you have in Firefox, there is only one choice you have. Copy All URLs does the job and it does it well.

After installing – all you need to do is right click on any web site, then pick Copy All URLs from the menu. From there you can copy all the URLs for the open tabs, or paste them. Simple enough, right?

After copying the URLs into any text area or document of your choice they will come out as URL, then title, URL, then title, URL.. well you get the idea. This extension could come in really handy if you were wanting to send somebody a list of links or wanted a good way to start a super list on your own blog of some of your favorite web sites.

Be sure to pick it up over at the Mozilla Addons site, and let me know if you find any other copy and pasting tools you enjoy.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
I agree with the mass majority that installing WordPress plugins and themes can sometimes be a pain. Sure it isn’t rocket science, but it could be a little easier.

The OneClick Installer for WordPress extension for Firefox hopes to change that for me. A very unique idea indeed – this extension promises to give you that “one click” install process for any WordPress theme or plugin out there.

This makes the job of customizing your WordPress install just a little easier for folks that don’t want to dive into the HTML editors and FTP clients to get things done. To learn more about it, you can check out the author’s post on it – or check it out for yourself at the Mozilla addons web site.

Here is what I had to say about them a few weeks back on the Lunarpages Lunartics Web site:

Don’t you hate it when your looking how to do that one little thing on your Web site, but just can not figure out how to get it done? I’ve got a neat resource that will help you keep track of some of the best resources out there and keep all of your favorites at your fingertips. The Web site tlbox.com has a slew of good programing and design tools to help you out.

Now usually one or two might do you, as far as keywords go. Every so often though, you just can’t think of any good ones to use. That is where the KGen extension for Firefox comes in.

Messy status bars make for bad browsing. Ok, maybe that is not true. They do make for a temperamental and somewhat anal Firefox guru though. Mike wants to know if there is a better way to organize the status bar in Firefox.

For some reason I don’t like to have a lot on my taskbar. I think it would be really neat if someone would develop a Firefox plugin to read data from the mlb gameday servers and popup a summary window similar to what the Cingular minuteminder plugin does. The ideal plugin would effectively minimize the gameday window into a summary bar similar to the minuteminder and foxytunes plugins, and it would open the gameday window in a popup on mouseover just like minuteminder.

I don’t think there are any extensions out there smart enough to know, “Ok it is Friday, time to show this extension” but I do have one for you that will help you organize your status bar woes. Check out the rightfully named Organize Status Bar extension.

It should help you at least gain some control over your messy status bar in your favorite browser.

Bonus! Here is another solution! StatusBars

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

The President Bush Countdown Firefox extension counts down the number of days left till we get a new president.

Now I know you are going to say this sounds like an anti-republican Firefox extension, and the last thing I want to do is alienate anybody who checks out the Firefox Facts on a daily basis. So instead of leaning to one side or the other, I am going to give both sides of the political fence a reason they could and should use this Firefox extension.

For those who like the current president, this gives you an idea of how much more time you have to spend with this commander and chief. For those who might not like him so much, well – you only have so many days left. You see – everybody wins and nobody has to get mad.

Going into the “should have been in there by default” pile of extensions I have grown to enjoy since Firefox 2 came out, we have searchOnTab. This simple and small extension allows you to select that new searches always appear in a new tab via the browser.

It is a pain in the neck to have to open a new tab before I start a new search (if I do not want to have my current tab changed or surfed away from). I just have to believe though that there must be an easier way to do this. Has anybody else been able to find an about:config hack to get it done?

If not – then at least we have this extension to get the job done.

Now I know this must sound like some match made in Web 2.0 hell, but stick with me because it really is a pretty nice tool if you enjoy the popular social news Web site, digg.com.

Netscape’s Digg Tracker extension helps you keep tabs on what stories your Digg friends are digging, submitting, and commenting on. A new toolbar button (shown in the preview image) features the Digg digger.

When there is new activity by your friends (i.e., a new comment or a new story submission), the button will be activated and the digger will be shown with his trusty shovel. Clicking on the activated button will open a list of your friends’ activity in the sidebar, allowing you to easily browse the stories they’ve submitted, commented on, and dugg.
