You have read my thoughts and opinions on Firefox and everything related to Firefox – so why not join me in sharing the word about how awesome this little browser really is.  Starting today, I am going to start accepting guest posts here on Firefox Facts.  So, if you have your own Firefox tutorial, add-on review or anything else Mozilla related that you’d like to share with the over 75,000 visitors that come to FirefoxFacts.com monthly – here is your chance.

Right now, I am looking for posts related to the following topics:

• Firefox Theme Reviews
• Firefox Add-on Reviews
• General Firefox Support Tutorials
• Hacks (about:config, Greasemonkey, etc)
• Firefox News or Community Stories

That is the basic list.  Of course, if you have a fantastic idea that does not fit into one of the above categories, feel free to send it my way too.  This is just to give those who need some guidance a general format of what it is I would like to see.

So, what is the payoff?

Well, other than being seen on one of the oldest and most popular independent Firefox fan blogs out there, I also want to give you a short biography paragraph at the end of your post, and a link back to your own website, twitter account, Facebook page or whatever else you might want people to see.

I have a quick and easy tutorial you can all do (as long as you are on Facebook, that is).  I have started up my own fan page for Firefox Facts and my other projects – and here is how you can make sure you do not miss any of the awesome tips, links, videos or anything else I post there for you.

Step #1

The first thing you have to do is go log into Facebook – and visit this link (I don’t yet have enough fans to have a personal short URL yet).

Next, you will want to click the “Like” button at the top of the page.

Enjoy!  This Facebook Fan Page is not for me – it is for you.  So if you have any questions, comments or just want to say, “Hey there!” please feel free.  Also the fan page is still a work in progress, so if there is something you would like to see there (such as a certain application or ability) let me know and I will try to make it happen.

For the last four years, I have absolutely enjoyed providing the over 7,000 subscribers of Firefox Facts with the best Firefox add-ons, the coolest themes, the neatest hacks and more.  This is just one more place we socialize, connect and make this resource even better.  Thanks for the future, “Like” and hope you stop in and say, “Hi!” too.

Some of the most noticeable changes include:

• Bigger fonts/easier to read posts and pages
• Better search, dropped Google Site Search
• Simplified the navigation too, you can easily jump from categories to related "facts" to the next post in the archive all with one click

Subscribe via RSS

All you have to do to subscribe to the RSS feed is click that orange icon in the Firefox address bar.

You will then be given many different options in which you can subscribe to the feed.  You can set it up as a Live Bookmark or you could use services like Google Reader, Bloglines and more to get instant access to all the Firefoxy goodness you will find here.

Subscribe via E-mail

To subscribe by e-mail, and get daily e-mail updates when a new post has been made – type your e-mail address into the empty text box at the top, and hit the “Subscribe!” button.

Once you do, a window will pop up asking you to type in a series of letters to verify you really want to subscribe.  once you do, click the “Complete Subscription Request” button and your all set.

It is all totally free, as I don’t charge you a dime (nor would I want to).  The only revenue I make from the site is from the Google ads your hopefully not blocking, to pay for the upkeep of the site.

Big thanks to the 7,000+ that are subscribing already and the many more who come in to check out the web site daily.  You ROCK!

Today is a special day, because it marks the 4 year anniversary of the start of Firefox Facts.  Starting 4 years ago as a spin-off project related to the e-book and Firefox articles I had been writing for Lockergnome, Firefox Facts has expanded by leaps and bounds, and thankfully has drawn in a fan following of it’s own over the years. 

I won’t go on and on about it though.  I just wanted to mark this special occasion and thank you for making this web site the success that it is today.  As long as you keep reading, I promise to keep pumping out as much content as I can to all my projects, including Mitchelaneous and the Web Hosting Show too.  Want to give Firefox Facts a birthday present?

It is live now, if you haven’t checked it out yet.  I have added a lot of nice features, fixed a lot of design flaws and hopefully, all the big changes have been done.  Will probably be doing a few more small tweaks here and there – but overall I am pretty happy with it.

So all is going fine here, and if your not seeing this post now, you should within a couple of days.  Then again, if you can’t see this post how would you know your missing it?  Quantum theory aside, expect the same ol’ Firefox goodness, just at a new home.
