As you can see, it gives you a button on your toolbar to click on and get direct access to downloading. This is something I have wanted to see for a long time. It also works with YouTube, MySpace, Google videos, DailyMotion, Porkolt, iFilm and others.

Detect Firefox Compatible Search Engines

One nice feature of Firefox 2 that i think gets overlooked by a lot of people, is the quick and easy way you can find new search engines via the browser. When a Web site has made a Firefox 2 compatible search, your search bar should glow or so something else (I think it changes from theme to theme). Not sure what to look for?

The folks over at Lifehacker have put together a video to watch just in case you are not sure. Worth watching – just to make sure!

Block Flash and Speed Up Loading

Now when it comes down to it, I am not sure how much flash on a Web site really slows you down. When you are looking for speed though every little tweak helps.

Web designer use Flash animation to attract visitor attention, too much flash animation will make people feel annoying. There is this firefox extension Flashblock which able to block flash animation from loading. I’m using this Flash block to block all flash animation.

Saving SWF Files

Need a quick and painless way to save flash files in Firefox? Well this one doesn’t even need the help of an extention, if you know where to look.

Today i found a quick way to save flash files using firefox (once they are cached). I started using Immem (rox…lot of music and videos). Being behind a firewall i cant use the software they provide so my only way of accessing immem is through there web interface.

Firefox Video Tutorials

Have a friend that might not “get” how to use Firefox just yet? Maybe they would learn more if you gave them a visual to study? I ran across this series of Firefox video tutorials this morning. Right now they cover: Tabbed Browsing, Live Bookmarking, Integrated Search, Themes, and Add-ons or Extensions. You can even toss in your E-mail address into the Web page so that you can get updated when new tutorials are available.
