The URL Lister add-on for Firefox gives you the ability to grab all the open tabs you have, and collect them as a series of links, formatted in three different formats, so that they can be copied easily.

To use, all you need to do is right-click on one of the tabs, and select URL Lister. Next, you will see a box (like the one above) that will give you URLs (one per line) for each tab you have open. This makes it super easy to copy and save the links for later. You also have the choice to save the list as plain text URLs, a HTML coded list (for use in a web page), or a Linked List, which would give you the list of links with both HTML code around them an the traditional “list” HTML tags too.

This extension will also open a number of links. So if you have a list of links you need to open in bulk, paste them into the text box, and hit the “OK” button. After doing so, you should have each URL open up in its own tab.

You can grab the URL Lister add-on at the Firefox Add-ons site or learn more about it at the author’s official site. If you love lists and links, you will love this browser link lister.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

PONG! Multiplayer – Play a game of PONG! while you are waiting. (also see the PingPong add-on)

Cards – A collection of patience (i.e. single-player) card games. Included are: Aces Up, Black Widow, Canfield, Demon, Double Klondike, Double Solitaire, Grounds for Divorce, Fan, Forty Thieves, FreeCell, Golf, Gypsy, Klondike, Maze, Mod 3, Montana…

Pacman – The Retro Extension. Yet another Pacman-clone. (Also check out PagMan)

Clines – Clines, a little game. (with dots!)

Mozteroids – Mozteroids is a variant of the computer game classic Asteroids.

Xultris – Xultris is a variant of the computer game classic Tetris.

Snake – Snake is a clone of the popular Snake or Worm…

Xoom – a top-down racing game with simple graphics, but tons of fun.

Red vs. Blue – The goal of this little game is to sort all red dots to left side and all blue dots to right side. Do this as fast as possible.

Froggr – Froggr is a clone of the classic Frogger.

There are tons of free flash games out there too, so to help you with those – I have another add-on that is worth mentioning. Flash Game Maximizer does exactly what it claims to do. It maximizes the flash game you are playing to fill the entire browser. Also, you can’t forget about FireNES, which (last time I checked) allowed you to play tons of old NES titles.

Have any other favorite games you can play from within Firefox?

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

You owe a lot to your tabs in Firefox. Without them you would have a desktop filled with clutter. So why not do something nice for your tabs and give them a few tweaks?

Coloring Your Tabs

ChromaTabs – A neat addition that will tints browser tabs with a color specific to the website loaded.

Aging Tabs – The tabs will change colors with this extension depending on how long it has been since you last looked at them.

ColorfulTabs – Add some flavor (and some colors) to all of your tabs to help tell one from the other.

Tab Interface Tweaks

Open Image In New Tab – Open that image your looking at in a new tab, to get a closer look.

Downloads in Tab – Opens your downloads in a tab instead of a popup window.

Tab Mix Plus – An extension with tons of tab tweaking options and setting to play with.

Since today is Friday, I figured why not lay back – kick my feet up and just look for some really wacky and maybe even useless Firefox extensions for you to play with? Here’s what made the list for this round up of oddball extensions.

Secret Word Grabber – Inspired by the “secret word” off of Peewee’s Playhouse. Yeah, that’s enough of that one already. As long as it doesn’t expose itself to me we will be alright.

OfficePoltergeist – Turn your web browser into a web server… of terror!

Anti-Paranoia – No, this extension will not spy and destroy your personal data, remember: Everything is good! Don’t panic!

Firesomething – This extension will give Firefox an identity crisis by generating a new randomized browser name every time you open a new window. Who doesn’t want to use Firetoad?

RandomMessage – For those of us out there who really do like to be bugged with random messages with no real purpose behind them. Excellent tool for those people who want to look busier than they really are.

STOP! Hammertime! – You can never get enough MC Hammer. Yeah, I had the baggy pants when I was young and you know you did too.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
Now I’ll say it from the start, I don’t agree with many of the choices they have on the list. Some like FasterFox (which for me has never improved my speed) I can understand. They don’t want you using Greasemonkey? AdBlock? NoScript? Those I can’t agree with too much.

Instead of calling it a list of extensions to stay away from, maybe they should rename the article “Extensions That Non-Power Users Should Stay Away From”. Then again, if your a power user – what Computer World says probably is not going to change your mind.

I think I have a pretty optimized Firefox setup. Personally I don’t think anybody needs more than two toolbars in Firefox at all times. How can you cut down on the clutter and keep everything accessible with just a few clicks here and there?

1. Shrink Your Main Menu Bar!

Install the Tiny Menu extension to shrink your main menu navigation. This extension replace the standard menu bar with a tiny menu popup.

2. Toss Out the Firefox Throbber!

Ditch the throbber in the upper right hand corner. Each tab has a built in throbber to let you know when a Web page is loading, this main one is not needed anymore. Get rid of it and give yourself some more space.

3. Use Small Icons to Save Space!

Use small icons on your toolbars. To do that, you can right click on the navigation toolbar and click “Customize”. At the bottom of that popup you should see a check mark box for “Use Small Icons”. While you are there you can drag away or add any items you think you might need or never use at all. Personally, I have back, forward, refresh, stop, home, and downloads there.

Any other suggestions for a more organized and clutter free toolbar?

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
