Mozilla Launches Gaming Lab

Along with all of your productive and useful websites out there, gaming websites or online games often get tossed to the wayside.  You know what though? Supporting games and independent developers is just as important as supporting the guys making the awesome website applications we all know and love.  With that said, I am happy to see Mozilla has launched the new Mozilla Labs Gaming.

Firefox 4 Ready Add-ons and Themes

Find Compatible Themes and Add-ons

With Firefox 4 being right around the corner, are all of your favorite add-ons and themes going to make the cut?  In my own opinion, I think that the drastic changes in both the backend of Firefox and the visual frontend will lead to a lot broken add-ons and favorite themes.  Hopefully though, this will not be the case once Firefox 4 is ready for the general public at large.

Reopen Tabs from Last Time

Tab Control in Firefox

Now, most of the time, when I see Firefox asking if I want to save my tabs for the next time Firefox starts, I quickly click through whatever I have to do to turn this extra warning off. Hide and Recover the Firefox Menu Bar

Firefox Menu Bar

This is a handy browsing trick I just learned about recently.  Usually in my Firefox browser, I have the menu bar hidden, to save on screen real estate.  However, there comes a time (every so often) when I need to get it back.  Rather than un-hiding it, getting what I need, then hiding it again – I have found a much quicker way to bring the menu bar back for just a minute.

App Tabs in Firefox 4

Firefox 4 App Tabs

The exciting Firefox feature to be added in the release of Firefox 4: Beta 2 was App Tab support.  The idea behind App Tabs is simple.  You are able to keep a favicon only tab open and pinned to the browser at all times.  Now yes, you can do this with the help of add-ons in Firefox 3, but I am excited to see this feature make its way into Firefox 4.

Reduce Tab Clutter with Tab Candy

Tab Candy in Firefox Tab Candy is the most exciting Firefox feature I have seen in a long time.  The problem we all have is it becomes harder, as the day goes along, to keep our tabs organized.  We all multi-task, and the regular horizontal tab toolbar with ten to twenty open tabs is not helping us.  That is where Tab Candy comes into play.

Dell Releases Locked-Down Firefox

Dell's Secure Firefox

It looks as if Dell is going into the browser business, with its virtualized version of Firefox.  The idea here is to provide the users a virtual instance of the browser, so that malware and other bad things can’t reach your main system files. This in turn would reduce your overall exposure to drive-by malware attacks from websites that might host malicious code.
