This exceptional tool will let you capture any portion of a website as an image and annote it with rectangles, circles, arrows, blurs, lines and text. With the built in support for uploading to awesomescreenshots.com – you can have an easy way to show off the screenshot to anybody out there too.

That add-on is brought to you by Diigo, which has really been impressing me as of late. They really seem to be doing a great job at creating really good note collection tools. The Awesome Screenshot add-on is just one more great showcase of their awesome abilities.

You can pick up the Awesome Screenshot add-on for Firefox from the Firefox Add-ons website.

Need some built-in note taking features when it comes to browsing the web? The Web Notes add-on for Firefox might be the extension that makes your day. This simple add-on features a floating window that can be placed anywhere on the screen for your note taking needs.

Here are a few more features of this handy browser extension:

You can right click a tab for options.

Saving notes is automatic.

Anytime you change a default note it will be saved for that web site.

You can directly access a web site that has a saved note by left clicking the site in the Sites menu item in the Options menu. If you right click the site you can edit the site’s name.

The Web Notes window may be minimized or restored by clicking on the Web Notes menu item in the Tools dropdown or, if you have installed it, the Web Notes toolbar button image. The minimized window can also be restored by resizing it.

If you move the minimized note to a convenient location, it will stay there and be remembered the next time you open Web Notes. The minimized Web Notes window will automatically be restored for web sites that have a Web Notes’ note. Those that do not will have a minimized Web Notes window. This behavior (auto min/restore) can be turned off and on in the Options menu. This setting will also be remembered the next time you open Web Notes.

Now, while it might not yet substitute my current Notetab Std being open 24/7 for my note taking needs, it is a good start. It has many more features than one would think, and you really have to try it out to see if it is right for you or not. Anything that helps organize wins my vote, so go give Web Notes a shot. You can download Web Notes over at the Firefox Add-ons website.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

The fireNotes add-on for Firefox is unique. It allows you to setup your own customized RSS feed links or embedded pages within the Firefox browsing window. Think of it as a local alternative to the popular start pages like Netvibes or iGoogle.

I think the overall interface could still use some tweaking, but other than that – the functionality of this Firefox add-on makes it worthy of your time. You can open fireNotes up at anytime by hitting Ctrl + y or by right clicking and selecting “Show fireNotes” from the context menu.

You, pretty much, create your note, copy in a URL and fireNotes will show you the possibilities.

If you want to add a RSS feed, just enter the URL and let fireNotes automatically search for the feed or enter the direct URL to the feed.

Whenever you see interesting content on a webpage, just right click on it and send it to fireNotes!

You can pick up fireNotes for Firefox on the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Do you use multiple computers and want to sync your saved passwords between them all? LastPass is an extension for Firefox that will allow you to do that easily within the browser. LastPass hides all your individual passwords behind one master password. When you type in that master password, then LastPass automatically logs you in to any web site you have set it up to remember.

Along with the whole password syncing and simplification, you can also set LastPass up to store secure notes for you, or automatically fill in forms for you. This might possibly be the best Firefox password related extension on the market today, plain and simple.

Here are a few more features of LastPass worth mentioning:

Access and manage your data from multiple computers seamlessly

Share logins with friends and let others share logins with you

Use One Time Passwords, and a Screen Keyboard to help keep you safe while on the road.

Supports IE as well, so if you switch browsers you’re always in sync, as well as when you switch computers

Supports Opera, Google Chrome, Safari, iPhone, Opera Mini, via Bookmarklets

Supports importing passwords from other password managers such as Roboform, Keepass, PasswordSafe, MyPasswordSafe, Sxipper, TurboPasswords, PassPack, Firefox and IE’s built in password manager

So, if you have been in search of a way to sync up your online passwords, and need a tool to help you do so, LastPass is definitely worth checking into. To learn more about the LastPass service, go check out LastPass.com and to pick up the add-on go visit the Firefox Add-ons web site.

If you do a lot of work online, being able to take notes as you work is definitely a good thing. Rather than scribbling on random sheets of paper or bouncing between Firefox and a notepad-like program, keep it all in Firefox with QuickFox Notes. This multi-tab note taking extension is awesome.

Some of the features include:

Simple & Multi tab

Auto save notes

Check spelling

Changeable font size

Changeable background color

Easy search tool

Various keyboard shortcuts

Another nice feature is that it saves your notes in the bookmark files, so your notes will always be in sync, if you have installed one of the bookmark syncing add-ons like Xmarks or Mozilla Weave. If you are in need of a handy note taking application from within Firefox, give QuickFox Notes a shot.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Want to be able to comment on any web site out there on the Web, without the permission of the web site in question? Reframe It opens up a new portal of communication, by allowing you to communicate through specific comments next to the web site you are referencing.

Why just send a simple text-based note, when you can send that and the web site you are talking about all in one swift, easy to access movement? Here is the extension in action:

It also supports sharing via Facebook, Twitter, RSS, HTML, and direct email so you can quickly share your comments.

Reframe It allows you to simple say what you want to where you want to. This extension would be perfect (as an example) if you were working on a web site re-design, and wanted to show your boss the areas you wanted to work on. Another example, would be citing research, when working on an article.

You can learn more about Reframe It via the Reframeit.com web site and pick up the Firefox add-on for the service on the Firefox Add-ons site.

Want to store notes you have taken across the Web in your bookmarks?

Net Notes will allow you to easily store notes on specific sites in your bookmarks. Once you install Net Notes, you can start taking notes about the active tab you have open. The Net Notes sidebar can be toggled (shown and hidden) via Firefox view menu, with a toolbar button, or with a customizable keyboard shortcut. The notes themselves are edited in a simple textbox in your Firefox sidebar. In the options, you can also set it to open your notes in a bottom bar instead.

When you close the sidebar or open a new window, the content of the notes textbox will automatically be saved for you. To help you organize, web sites with notes are automatically tagged with a customizable, comma separated list of tags. Since the notes are stored with your bookmarks, to backup, restore, import and export your notes just backup, restore, import or export your bookmarks.

So if you are searching for a decent note taking add-on for Firefox, Net Notes is well worth checking out over on the Firefox add-ons web site.

More of a pain than a savior, the toolbar the toolbar tip floating boxes of help and information in Firefox tend to hurt me more than help me. Yes, I know the reload button allows me to reload the current page, I got it!

If you want to disable this feature, follow these steps:

Step 1: In your address bar, type in about:config

Step 2: If given a warning, tell Firefox you promise to be nice. Now type this into your Filter search box at the top:

browser.chrome.toolbar_tips

Step 3: Now only one result should be showing up. Right-click where it says “browser.chrome.toolbar_tips” and select “Toggle”. You want to turn this from True to False. (If you want them back, just toggle it again to turn this feature back on). Now you can go ahead and get back to your browsing.

There you have it, no more annoying popup tips coming your way getting in the way of your browser thanks to our good ol’ buddy, about:config.
