Quickly create PDFs anywhere from any source on the Web. The add-on PDF Download will let you save just about any type of content from any webpage as a PDF file. The extension also promises to remove the pain you can experience when you encounter PDF files online too.

Almost every single time I run into a PDF online, I run into problems. This add-on has solved that issue completely.

Some of the features include:

View PDF online. Convert PDF to an image and display it in the browser for quick viewing.

Convert Web pages to PDF. Convert any (unsecured) Web pages to great looking PDF files, and then save, share, print or archive them.

View PDF as HTML. View the contents of PDF files faster and eliminate browser problems by instantly converting any Web-based PDF to a browser-friendly HTML Web page.

Control PDF files in Firefox. Stop crashes and get the upper hand on Web-based PDF files by automating and controlling how your Firefox or Flock browsers deal with them.

Works in your language. Through the help of our users, PDF Download is now available in 19 languages and counting.

This might be one of the better PDF-related Firefox add-ons out there today. You can pick it up and try it out at the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

I couldn’t be more blunt with the headline, and it pretty much tells the entire story here. Pixlr, a great online photo editor has now got an extension that will work with Firefox. With it, you have access to import and edit any picture you find into the Pixlr web site.

So who really needs Pixlr? It is a great alternative for us normal people out there who may not need the entire Photoshop suite of tools, just a simple and easy to use editor. Having it online and with easy access via Firefox makes it an even handier tool for the web developers out there to have access to. The only thing you need to have to make it work is Flash.

One more nice feature about the service is it is super quick. Just playing around with the editor on its own, it loaded up in under two seconds easily. To pick up the Firefox add-on for Pixlr, go check out the Firefox Add-on site. To learn more about the Pixlr editor, be sure to visit pixlr.com.

Here are some of the extension types it can recognize and handle:

Documents (*.doc, *.rtf, *.odt, *.sxw)

Spreadsheets (*.xls, *.csv, *.ods, *.sxc)

Presentations (*.ppt, *.pps, *.odp, *.sxi)

Images (*.jpg, *.gif, *.png)

How do you use it? Well whenever you face a document with the “Open With” option, it will also give you the option to open it Online. From there you can choose one of the various Web 2.0 tools to view and edit the document in question.

One last really nice feature is that Open IT Online gives you the ability to also see the file size of the document you are about to view. This is handy in determining if you want to open the file, or not.

You can pick up the Open IT Online extension from the Firefox Add-ons site or learn more about it at OpenItOnline.com.

I am about to promise and deliver to you something that many people can not do – a Picnik with no ants – just photos.

Confused yet? Picnik is a really cool web site that allows you to edit your photos Online. Now when you mix that with the awesomeness that is Firefox – you have in your hands one heck of a nice tool.

Add a menu options and a toolbar icon to make importing images into Picnik easier. This extension adds a menu option when you right click on images to make it easy to pull the image into Picnik for editing. Firefox 2.0 users also menu options and a toolbar icon to take screen shots and import them into Picnik.

The thing that brings the magic together is the Picnik extension for Firefox. Might not be the time to uninstall Photoshop just yet – but give it some time and you might re-think that idea.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Here is another request sent my way by MagnoliaSouth. It seems that there is no known or good Firefox extensions for Meebo. For those of you who don’t know, Meebo is one of those super Ajax Web 2.0 solutions. This one allows you to login to various instant messaging services right from the Web all in one spot.

It could work like a small pop up, a toolbar or whatever. As it is, I can open it in another tab, but that’s not ideal. Having it viewable at all times is much better. Naturally the option to hide it should be available as well.

Now the Meebo extension is interesting, there is one that I was able to hunt down – but it isn’t for Firefox 2.

http://gis.stcstm.org/meebo-extension/

If there is anybody out there that wants to update this extension or write a new one to do the same thing, go for it. Now you could use it if you installed the Nightly Tester Tools extension first.

You can find it here:

http://www.oxymoronical.com/web/firefox/nightly

Have a better suggest or fix? Leave a comment and let us know about it please!

Have another feature request or suggestion you’d like to see built into Firefox by default or added by an extension? Let me know about it and I’ll feature it on Firefox Facts and maybe even find you a solution to your problem (if you have one).

Update: “Hey there, you might have known about this or someone might have mentioned it already… You can bookmark meebo.com and then edit its properties (right click the bookmark, choose properties). There will be a checkbox for loading it in the sidebar.

From what I can tell, this will accomplish the same thing as that Flock extension. All the same ‘warnings’ apply though – any time you change sidebars, or close the sidebar, you will be signed out of Meebo.”

Thanks to Sean for sending this solution in!

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
I am about to start a new job next week, and I know I am probably going to be a little distracted with other things going on. So what is the solution? Create a new profile in Firefox that is only used for work.

What you can do is create a separate profile just for work. Here is the list of some advantages:

    + No “play” bookmarks
+ No “play” usernames/passwords (I let Firefox remember mine)
+ Install only those extensions needed for work (Firefox works faster)
