Once you have this add-on installed, you can save frequently entered text for later really easily. All it takes is two mouse clicks and your text is there. Just right-click in the textarea, select clippings and then select the name for the text you wish to paste in.

Some of the features also include:

Create clippings from selected text in a form field or Web page body (Firefox), or from selected text in an email or newsgroup message (Thunderbird)

Create clippings by dragging and dropping text into the Clippings icon on the status bar

Paste clippings into form fields (Firefox) or new email or newsgroup messages (Thunderbird) from the Clippings context menu. Individual clippings can be pasted as rich text if they contain HTML tags.

Assign shortcut keys to clippings for quicker pasting

Define placeholders inside a clipping that you will be prompted to fill in when you paste the clipping. Built-in placeholders for the date, time, clipping name, user agent, etc. are also available.

Organize your collection of clippings into folders using Clippings Manager

Import and export clippings to or from datasource files to share with other users

This is a great extension for Firefox if you find yourself typing the same things in over and over again. It can really help save a lot of time. You can pick Clippings up at the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Here is one more tip from the Smart Productivity blog:

One other great use of this tip is that if you right-click any of the items at the top of the Bookmarks folder, such as Organize Bookmarks and select Copy, your complete library of bookmark URLs will be placed on the clipboard as well as the folder names.

Very neat discovery, I must say. Check out more Smart Productivity here:

Sure, you can highlight with your mouse, right-click and copy – but why do that when there are so many awesome add-ons for Firefox that will help you get it done better and faster? If your looking for an extension to help power up your browser’s copying of links, information and more I have seven of them that should help you get the job done.

Copy All Urls – This copies and pastes all urls of open tabs inclusive history in structured and well defined form to and from clipboard.

AutoCopy – Want to just highlight to copy text, links and more? That is what AutoCopy will help you do.

Copy Link Name – This add-on for Firefox will copy the name of the link, so you don’t have to.

Extended Copy Menu – Provides the option to copy selection as plain text or HTML.

Copy Links – With this extension you can copy multiple links from Firefox in a single bound.

Copy Plain Text – Copies the content without picking up any of the formatting.

Copy as HTML Link – Creates an HTML link to the current page using the selected text and copies it (into the clipboard) for pasting.

So who, what, when, where and why are you copying? Via my own day job, I have to send a lot of information back and forth from my own documents to the web and visa versa – so the idea of super charging my copying is a blessing I can not live without.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

If you are looking for an extension to copy all the URLs in the open tabs you have in Firefox, there is only one choice you have. Copy All URLs does the job and it does it well.

After installing – all you need to do is right click on any web site, then pick Copy All URLs from the menu. From there you can copy all the URLs for the open tabs, or paste them. Simple enough, right?

After copying the URLs into any text area or document of your choice they will come out as URL, then title, URL, then title, URL.. well you get the idea. This extension could come in really handy if you were wanting to send somebody a list of links or wanted a good way to start a super list on your own blog of some of your favorite web sites.

Be sure to pick it up over at the Mozilla Addons site, and let me know if you find any other copy and pasting tools you enjoy.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
