Tired of finding mp3 files on the Web, that have no inline player so you can simply check them out as you find them? Well, thanks to the Lifehacker team you can now use Google’s inline mp3 player to stream any mp3 on any web site.

For those you have Greasemonkey installed, the Google Inline MP3 Player script inserts the Google flash mp3 player next to any linked MP3 file. Want to give it a shot? Go check out the Lifehacker page on the topic, and click there to get it installed.

As a bonus, for those of you who might want the opposite of this, we have the Give me the MP3 user script. Once you install this into Greasemonkey, you can pull the mp3 link out instead of using a flash player that is embedded on the web site you are browsing.

So to play, or not to play – you now have the option to do both!

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Say, you like the fact that Google has started to thumbnail YouTube results in search, but you just want a ‘bit more. GoogleTube, an add-on for Firefox, will allow you to play the YouTube videos inside of the Google search results window.

Once installed, all you have to do is hit the YouTube icon next to the search result link. Instantly the video starts playing, without the need to open up a new tab or window. Also, you can also download the video and view more information regarding the video (date added, views, rating, comments) directly from the search results.

The player can be configured to suit your needs too. You can select player colors, player size and these additional options:

Allow auto play

Show player border

Show tiny icon on the status bar

Show download button

Show more information button

Choose where to show the video (next to link, under link, ect)

It is a simple extension that does a simple task very well. You can pick up GoogleTube on the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
The Digital Inspiration blog shows how to construct a URL that will play any MP3 file with Google’s player, which is nice, but it seems like a lot of work. So I’ve modified the auto inline MP3 player greasemonkey script to embed the Google Player in case you prefer the look and feel of Google’s player to the Musicplayer.
