Time to hand out a few more awards to those who have made using Firefox just a little ‘bit better over the past 12 months. Congratulations to all, and yes – I am sure a few more awards might be on the way…More Year End Awards

Best Firefox related project award?

iPox Remix – In TwisterMC’s own words, “iPox Remix is my way of letting the user customize the iPox Firefox theme to their liking.” Never have I seen a better guide on how to get a good looking theme going with a lot of hand holding along the way. By far – this multi-stepped article series deserves to be the best as far as the non-Mozilla owned projects go.

Best alternative guide to Firefox award?

Learn Firefox – It is a visual guide to help you learn more about the Firefox browser. With an original look and feel to the entire web site and project, Learn Firefox leaps above the rest when it comes to giving you a new and exciting way to learn more about everybody’s new favorite browser. Major props for Chris, Ryan and Ashley for putting this one together.

Mitch’s favorite Mozilla Firefox awareness program?

Operation Firefox – Sharing the Firefox love by placing huge stickers all over the place. Point to me where the part not to love is, because I ain’t seeing it. Winners were also recently announced, so might be time to take look back at this Mozilla project if you haven’t been there in a while.

Best Firefox Blog?

MozillaLinks.org – This is a good blog that even I like to subscribe to so I can stay ahead of the game with some really cool news and information coming out of Mozilla about Firefox. Percy does a great job and hopefully will keep up the great work. Two thumbs up from one blog to another.

Old Posts, New Popularity

Month after month, the most popular post I have done seems to be the best Greasemonkey script roundup. Just wanted to let everybody know I have updated the list, deleted some junk and hopefully now it is worth its popularity levels yet again.

Here are some of the other posts that were popular last month:

10 Ways to Fix E-mail in Firefox

I have not used a desktop e-mail client in a long time. Web mail is just too easy and too convent not to use. Being in the same boat as a lot of you out there, I figured I’d do a round up of some of the best extensions to fix your e-mailing ways via your favorite browser.

tlbox Releases Web Dev Extension

tlboxThe folks over at tlbox, one of my new favorite Web design and development resources released an extension that allows you to get all the goodness from their Web site in a simple extension.

Here is what I had to say about them a few weeks back on the Lunarpages Lunartics Web site:

Don’t you hate it when your looking how to do that one little thing on your Web site, but just can not figure out how to get it done? Firefox Tabs vs Firefox Windows

Which one gives you a better performance? Is it better to have multiple tabs open in one window or just have multiple Windows open? The Firefox Guru did all of the scientific work on this one, and has found out the results for us.

Over on Go Firefox!, an interesting question was posted: Which uses less system resources (memory)?

My theory is using tabs would use less resources then having the same sites opened in separate windows. My reasoning is each window has to load the entire browser interface, not just the page content. So, I did a little experiment. First using Firefox 2.0.0.1 with a clean profile (no extensions, no plug-ins and default theme) and imported my bookmarks from another profile.
