The MouseControl add-on is a nifty tool that allows you to switch, close, quick return, duplicate and zoom just by clicking on your mouse buttons.

This fantastic little add-on for Firefox adds a lot to using the mouse and Firefox together. Here are just a few of the mouse combinations that it brings to your browsing habits.

While holding down the right mouse button:

Scroll up/down to move focus between tabs

While scrolled away left click to return to the original tab

Left click without scrolling or after scrolling and back to original tab to jump to last used tab

Middle/scroll button click to close tab

Middle/scroll button down and hold to undo last closed tab

Middle/scroll button double click will close all tabs with same host name (Ex: addons.mozilla.org is different from www.mozilla.org)

While double clicking:

Double click right button to open new tab

Double click right button AND hold to duplicate current tab

While holding down the left mouse button:

Scroll up/down to zoom in/out

Middle click to reset zoom

This might be the best power tool when it comes to getting more out of using your mouse with Firefox. You can pick up MouseControl from the Firefox add-ons website.

From the creator of Colorful Tabs, we have yet another handy and helpful Firefox extension. FfChrome, for Firefox, is an add-on that trims and slims your context menus. After installing too many add-ons, your right click menu might get a little cluttered. FfChrome is here to clean things up.

The second part of this awesome addition to Firefox is that you never have to click on anything to get it going. All you have to do is pause on the menu item you want, and that action is taken. From BianaryTurf.com – here are the five things this addon gets right:

It will optimize your context menu and show only the bare essential items.

It will allow you to see the unwanted items on the fly by clicking "Show All". You can again collapse it to bare essentials on the fly.

All disabled items are taken out by default. What will one do with the "paste" item when you haven’t copied anything?

Ease of use – all changes happen on the fly.

It is contextually sensitive. It knows and respects the context in which you use it. For e.g. context menu items relating to links or images etc. will only show when you right click on a link or an image etc.

You can get more information about the add-on for Firefox (and download it for yourself) at BianaryTurf.com. FfChrome might just change the way (or at least make it a heck of a lot simpler) you get through the context menus.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Starting of the week with a simple, yet effective addon for anybody in the Firefox user base. The Auto Context extension for Firefox will automatically right-click any text that you highlight.

Plain Text to Link, Open-Tran, BabelZilla Glossary Extension, SearchWith, Organize Search Engines, Add to Search Bar, Nuke Anything Enhanced, DownThemAll! and Define Word

Auto Context will save your right mouse button a lot of work through the day.

If just a handful of searching up in your search bar doesn’t cut it for you or if you want to remove your search bar to reclaim space, termBlaster is the super searching extention that will have you looking for things you never knew you could look.

Here is a little more about the Firefox extension from the developers:

termBlaster adds the ability to perform searches from your right-click (or context) menu using one of 110+ websites that range from search engines to encyclopedias to translators. Website lists are in XML format and can be modified in Places.

One would think that speed could come into play when trying to navigate through the search menus but you can do so quickly with little or no effort at all. All you do is highlight and right click the word you want to search and then select the search engine you want to use. They have shopping searches, review searches, torrent searches, map searches, too many to name.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!
