Quick Find in Firefox

It has been a while since I shared any quick Firefox tips, so today is the day I start doing it again. Need to find something on a Web page quickly?

Well you could use the Ctrl + F keyboard combination to find what you are looking for. You can also just hit the “/” button as well. The second method is what is called the “quick find” option. The nice thing about this quick find option is that after you are done with it and click somewhere else on the Web page you are searching – it just goes away.

How to Open a New Blank Tab

Need to open a new tab in a hurry? Sure, you could do it a number of ways. I have one that will get you there faster than all the rest. This is all you need to do:

double-click any empty spots on the tab bar

Open Your Homepage in a New Tab

Need to go back home, but you do not want to leave the Web page you are on? Use this simple trick to browse the way you want to browse.

middle-click (or ctrl + left click) on the homepage button to open your homepage in a new tab

Now you can go back to your homepage anytime you need to without disrupting your current browsing situation.

Close a Tab in Firefox

Want to quickly close a tab in everybody’s favorite browser? You could move your mouse all the way up to the tab bar and then right-click and then select “Close Tab”. If you in a hurry though, here is a method of getting it done that is a little faster.

move up to the tab in question, then middle click (or ctrl + left click) it.

Now you don’t have to worry about that person about to come in the room and find out you were reading about midgets.

Opening Bookmarks in a New Tab

Need to open your favorite bookmark in a new tab? This comes in handy when you need to navigate through two Web pages at once. Here is how you can get that done.

middle-click (or ctrl + left click) on the bookmark

Now the only thing left for you to do is bookmark FirefoxFacts.com!
