When a Mac Theme Meets Gonzo From the Muppets

Is Firefox Feeling a Little Blue?

Looks like this Firefox theme is feeling a little blue.  The Blu Canidae theme for Firefox is a modified version of the iFox theme with Photoshop CS3 style icons.  The combination of those great features makes for a really nice looking blue/mac-ish theme.

Here is a little more about the theme from the developer:

This was designed to be a cleaner, blue version of iFox. It has stylized buttons, and is intended to be a new alteration of my old theme, Blu Vos. I hope you like it. If you can, please leave a comment and a review. This helps me out immensely. If you run into any problems, or find any flaws, please tell me! I want to make this theme better, and your assistance makes that possible.

You can pickup the Clu Canidae theme yourself on the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Find a Persona That Fits You!

Firefox’s Personas change-around got an update and a new web site dedicated to it here recently.  What will your browser wear today?  It is up to you to choose at GetPersonas.com.

Get Your New Firefox Persona

You now have an online gallery of Persona skins to browse through, from the newest to most popular.  You also have several categories of themes to choose from too.  The best part of the site, is if you have the Personas change-around installed, it will change as you hover over each preview image.

My only beef with Personas now is the fact that it dims my tab bar so much, on most skins I have a hard time seeing the text on the tabs.  Back to the web site though, GetPersonas.com also allows you to login and submit your own skins too.  Let me know if you do in the comments, as I would really like to see some new interesting designs.

Winstripe Modernized

Want to take Firefox 3 back to a simpler time?  With the Winstripe Modernized theme for Firefox, you can make it look like Firefox 1.5.

Winstripe Modernized for Firefox

There are a lot of people out there that still enjoy the “good ol’ days” of Firefox, and with this theme, you can re-live your memories while still getting all the benefits of the Firefox 3 upgrade.  Personally, I like this theme icons at least, a lot more than I do the current Firefox default theme.  Maybe I too am one of those who has an emotional bond with this previous version of the browser.

Oh how many hours we spent together, and long long nights.  It seems like it was only yesterday I first glanced my eyes on your little house home icon.. thingy?

Here are some special features of the theme:

  • URL Dropmarker has been Removed (check here if you need it)
  • The Stop and Reload buttons have been merged to save space
  • URL bar is colored green if the SSL cert is safe, yellow if weak and red it broken.
  • All Menus have Icons
  • Increased Font Size for the Menu Bar
  • Active Tabs now Have an Orange Border Line

Take a trip back to Firefox’s past and pickup the Winstripe Modernized theme at the Firefox Add-ons site.

ANTHEM for Firefox – Oh Say Can Firefox See?

I enjoy the dark and original Firefox themes the most, so this one has just tickled my fancy all over the place.  The new ANTHEM theme for Firefox is unique, classy and fun to use.  It isn’t that often we get to see themes like this:

Anthem Theme for Firefox

Here is a little more about the theme from the developer:

ANTHEM is a fun little side project I recently started. It was inspired by my blog layout and the popular “dark” look that has taken over in the past few years. The icons are 100% original. However, some windows still use the original theme buttons.

Using Windows here, there are a few features that are a little buggy it seems – but I this is a great start to a very nice looking theme for Firefox.

You can check out the author’s official site and then pick the theme up from the Firefox Add-ons repository.  Also, for more dark theme selections, go check out the list of the most popular dark Firefox themes.

Feeling a little blue?  Google can too, thanks to this user style!

Google is a Little Blue?

The Google Web Search – dark blue redesign (vC) user style adds a ‘bit of blue to the otherwise white and bland Google background.  To use this style, you will need to install the Stylish extension for Firefox.  Also as the designer points out on the page,  this style only works for google.com. To make it work for other countries, use a plain text editor to search for “google.com” and replace all occurrences with “google.co.uk” or whatever you use.
