Following the World Cup and use Firefox?  I have a site that will serve two of your proverbial itches at the same time.  Firefox Cup is the new website put out by Mozilla (in association with FIFA) to help you rally behind your favorite soccer team.

You use your favorite team’s persona in Firefox during the World Cup to be counted in the daily user totals.  Then, on the website, the team with the most persona users during the tournament wins.

Want to follow the World Cup action?  You can also pick up the FootieFox add-on for Firefox.  It will show you all the latest scores from within your browser.
