Grab Your Trashable E-mail Address!

Here to save the day when it comes to using disposable e-mail addresses in a single click is TrashMail.net and their Firefox extension.

With this extension, you can easily with right click access create free disposable email addresses and paste them directly in forms. This helps to protect you from spam mails and could be useful when subscribing to forums or newsletters.

Previously one of my 10 ways to fix e-mail in Firefox, I don’t think this great extension has gotten the praise that it does deserve.

Personally I grow sick and tired of having to pass on my personal e-mail address to anybody who asks for it. You can think of this disposable e-mail address as your safegaurd from those who would bore or spam you till you can’t take no more in your ol’ inbox.

Fighting Spam With Firefox

These days it looks like the war on spam is getting to become a harder and harder battle to fight. Thankfully though, there are a few select applications and services that help us fight on the side of good.

One of those would be the SpamReport extension for Firefox. This extension allows you to easily report Web sites using spamdexing methods to artificially improve their ranking through simplified access to Google’s SpamReport service. It might not be a cure to the problem, but it is a start.

Temporary E-mail Address Creator

Need a temporary E-mail address creator? The Tempomail Firefox extension might be right up your ally then. There are a handful of these types of extensions out there, and this one is as handy as the rest.

As an anti-spam solution tempomail allows you to create a temporary email address redirecting each message to your mailbox for a given period of time.

When this period of time expires, you will not receive any spam from the web sites on which you gave your temporary email address. Tempomail is not commercial and your email address will be stored in our logs only for legal archiving.

To create a temporary E-mail address, just right click on a text field and select “tempomail” in the context menu. Then you’ll be asked for your real E-mail address to which messages will be redirected during the time you selected.

Temporary Inbox

For some time now, when I am not sure if a place is going to spam me to death, I’ll give them a dummy E-mail address that I don’t check that often. That way I can still sign up for a service, before I see if they are going to send me a plethora of E-mail I didn’t ask for. The Temporary Inbox Firefox extension takes some of the work out of the problem by generating random disposable email addresses. Use those email addresses for registration at forums, adult sites or whatever.
