Want to display your Twitter timeline on the toolbar in Firefox? It is easy to do with Tweet Line. This simple add-on for Firefox will give you your very own Twitter powered news ticker. What tweets do you see? Well, after authorizing your Twitter account, you see tweets from all the people you follow.

Once installed, Tweet Line will take up one toolbar space. Inside though, you have easy access to a picture of the tweeter, the twitter message from the friend you are following, and several tools to either navigate or interact with the messages themselves.

Here are some of the commands you will have at your fingertips from within the toolbar itself:

User icon

This user’s status

What application this user uses.

Update time

Current index / total number of downloaded statuses

Toggle favorite

Open update form

Open update form to reply to this user

Move to previous / next status. (Click with shift key then move per 5 updates and click with alt(option) key then move to first or last updates.)

Open popup menu

Collapse Tweet Line

If you find visiting Twitter.com a chore when it comes to seeing what people are up to, Tweet Line makes using Twitter just a little ‘bit easier. You can pick up Tweet Line from the Firefox Add-ons website or learn more about it on the official Tweet Line website.

Looking for a way to keep your eye on your stocks?

Sure, there are a number of different web sites that will do this, but adding this functionality to Firefox would be even cooler. StockFox is the best lightweight stock ticker you can integrate into the Firefox browser.

You can setup your favorite stocks to either rotate in the status bar of the Firefox browser, or scroll across, like you see on the big cable news networks.

Does StockFox look like the tracking tool you need? You can pick it up on the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Now all this stock talk just makes my head hurt. I don’t understand it, and I am not sure if I want to understand it. I understand though that some of you might – and this is the reason I hunted down and found the Stock Charts Firefox Extension.

We’ve just put the finishing touches on an extension for the Firefox web browser. It lets you select one or more ticker symbols on a web page and open new tabs for them all in stocktickr, stockcharts.com, Yahoo! Finance, or Big Charts – all in one fell swoop without any typing. Is your favorite stock web site not on the list? That’s ok because you can easily add it to the list.

Love them or hate them, tickers on some of the big news stations can be pretty helpful. If nothing else, it gives you something to read. Now lets bring that ticker to the browser and toss RSS into the mix. RSS Ticker scrolls your live bookmarks (also known as news feeds/RSS feeds) across your browser, a la a cable-news style ticker.
