While most competitors only check domain name owners registered location and/or what ISP the IP is registered at, WorldIP actually shows the physical location the websites are served from by means of AS number, which is actually used for routing traffic around the net. While it doesn’t always have the answer or correct information, corrections can be submitted by any user, anonymously or with OpenID.

ShowIP add-on for FirefoxWorking in the web hosting business, I need to often look up IP addresses and find out more about the servers that websites are hosted on every day. A Firefox add-on like ShowIP makes this job just a little ‘bit easier for me. With it installed, I can show the current IP address (or addresses) of the current page I am viewing in the Firefox status bar.
