The URL Lister add-on for Firefox gives you the ability to grab all the open tabs you have, and collect them as a series of links, formatted in three different formats, so that they can be copied easily.

To use, all you need to do is right-click on one of the tabs, and select URL Lister. Next, you will see a box (like the one above) that will give you URLs (one per line) for each tab you have open. This makes it super easy to copy and save the links for later. You also have the choice to save the list as plain text URLs, a HTML coded list (for use in a web page), or a Linked List, which would give you the list of links with both HTML code around them an the traditional “list” HTML tags too.

This extension will also open a number of links. So if you have a list of links you need to open in bulk, paste them into the text box, and hit the “OK” button. After doing so, you should have each URL open up in its own tab.

You can grab the URL Lister add-on at the Firefox Add-ons site or learn more about it at the author’s official site. If you love lists and links, you will love this browser link lister.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Looking to make drag and dropping a little more functional in Firefox? The Firefox add-on QuickDrag will let you load URLs, do web searches and more just by highlighting text, grabbing it and dragging it to the right location.

Here is what QuickDrag looks like in action, as well as more details on how you can use this great extension for Firefox to speed up your browsing.

Now, some might look at this add-on and say that is not much, however after you start using it, you really start to realize how much more functionality this adds – just be adding a few tweaks to the browser. For more help, you might also check out the author’s FAQ.

You can pick up the QuickDrag add-on via the Firefox Add-ons web site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Everybody loves to share links with the various URL shorteners out there, however – when you do click one of these links the problem is you have no clue where you are really going. LongURL.org is looking to fix that problem and has two neat tools to help you get it done.

The LongURL Mobile Expander lets you expand those links no matter where you are at. By default, you would paste the link into the LongURL.org web site to find out where you are going. You can build this into your browser though if you pick up either the Firefox extension for it or the Greasemonkey script. Both will give you the true URL when you hover over the shortened link.

Download the LongURL Mobile Expander Add-on for Firefox

Download the LongURL Mobile Expander Greasemonkey Script

Here is a list of the supported services: tinyurl.com, is.gd, ping.fm, ur1.ca, bit.ly, snipurl.com, tweetburner.com, metamark.net, url.ie, x.se, 6url.com, yep.it, piurl.com, and more!

Now you will always know where those tiny URLs are taking you.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

You can file this one in the folder of annoying things you find on the Web. Not to slip into Andy Rooney here, but don’t you hate it when you find a super long link you’d like to visit but it is not hyperlinked? You have to copy, paste, open a new tab and then navigate to it. It should be a simpler task to tackle and thankfully the Copy and Go extension for Firefox makes it an easy thing to do.

Here is what the developer of the extension has to say about Copy and Go:

With this add-on you just need to mark the link, and choose Copy and Go from the right click menu. The add-on will simply copy the marked text URL, and will open it on a new tab. That’s it!

This makes for a great addition to any Firefox installation you might have. You can pick up Copy and Go on the Firefox Add-ons site.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

Here is one more tip from the Smart Productivity blog:

If you are looking for an extension to copy all the URLs in the open tabs you have in Firefox, there is only one choice you have. Copy All URLs does the job and it does it well.

After installing – all you need to do is right click on any web site, then pick Copy All URLs from the menu. From there you can copy all the URLs for the open tabs, or paste them. Simple enough, right?

After copying the URLs into any text area or document of your choice they will come out as URL, then title, URL, then title, URL.. well you get the idea. This extension could come in really handy if you were wanting to send somebody a list of links or wanted a good way to start a super list on your own blog of some of your favorite web sites.

Be sure to pick it up over at the Mozilla Addons site, and let me know if you find any other copy and pasting tools you enjoy.

Facebook Fan Page Come join the fun on the Firefox Facts Facebook Fan Page!

I like the PDF format and so do a heck of a lot of other people. It is as close to an “alternative standard” as you can get. It might not be used for everything, but what it is used for – it is used well. How would you like to be able to convert to PDF right from Firefox?
