For those of you using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you probably have already noticed that by default, Firefox does not have the cool glass effect that some of your other programs might have.  You can make Firefox a little more transparent though, with the Glasser add-on.

Now, I’ll be honest – I didn’t think it would make that much of a change for me.  Sure, some more of Firefox is transparent – so what?  However, after giving this add-on a try finally, I might decide to keep it.  I like the fact that it gives the bookmarks toolbar a little ‘bit more highlight and makes it stand out a ‘bit more too.

Overall, I think it does make the Firefox 3.5/3.6 interface a lot sleeker.  You can pickup this interface changing extension from the Firefox Add-ons website.

1. Embracing Glass: Toolbar and Tabs using Glass. Buttons translucent and slightly glossy to meld with the toolbar. Raised 3D lookachieve tactile "feel".
2. Page Button: Connect the Page button to the left side of the tab area. Directly connected to the Page.
3. Tools/Bookmark Bar: Connecting the Tools button to the side of the Window to emphasize the fact that it is used for customizing and changing the UI. Adding a button next to that to toggle the Bookmarks Bar which is turned off by default.

What do you think thus far?  I kind of like the idea of removing the menu bar, as long as all the important aspects are still easily reached (maybe via “tools”).  However, not sure if I want everything to be as see-through as it is in the example.  Here are two more screenshots:

Vista Ultimate Skin for Facebook – Want to make Facebook look a ‘bit more Vista-like?  This user style will give Facebook the look and feel of Windows Vista.

Also, if you want just the Vista-like taskbar inside of Facebook, you can pick up this user style.

How does it look?  Camifox, if I dare to say is a great looking theme in my opinion.  Here is how it looks on Mac, Vista, XP and Linux:

Now you have the choice to switch between these without having to change your computer’s operating system.  Two new theme solutions for either XP or Vista have surfaced (they are experimental right now) on Firefox’s add-ons site.

Download the Firefox 3 themes here:

• Vista’s Theme on XP 1.0 (for Firefox 3)

So if you use XP but you like Vista’s theme more – use it.  If you use Vista and like XP’s theme more, you have a more colorful default theme solution.

My first thoughts were “oh, it’s shinny and blue” but it does the job it sets out to do. It does fit into the Windows Vista look and feel pretty well, don’t you think?

Want to go back to the Office?

Now I don’t know too many people who say, “I’m such a big fan of Office, I wished all my apps looked like this!” but love it or hate it, the Office look makes for a pretty nice Firefox theme. If your looking for that traditional Microsoft look – but with a little class and style the Office theme for Firefox might be the download you have been looking for.

Stick it up your aero, Vista!

Our next Firefox theme inspired by the Microsoft machine looks like it fell out of Windows Vista. If your a big fan of the way the new Internet Explorer 7 looks then the Vista-areo theme might be up your alley. Sleek blue style with that Microsoft glow.

Crappy, yet classic Microsoft style…

Now this is the style that you know and love. No wait, does anybody really love the classic and familiar look of IE6? No – it couldn’t be.. could it? Well if you do fall in that camp then the Looks Familiar theme for Firefox is a download you might want to do in private. Close the blinds though and make sure nobody sees you using it.
